Re Silas Stilwell Stedman, of Christchurch, Doctor of Medicine, a debtor.

To the creditors of the above named debtor.

TAKE NOTICE that on the 29th day of September last the estate and effects of the above-named debtor were sequestrated and Henry Fowle Seager of Christchurch, printer, was appointed Receiver to the said estate, and the 18th day of December next was appointed for the hearing of the petition of the said debtor, at the Court-house Christchurch, at Eleven o’clock in the forenoon; and in the meantime his person and property are protected from all process for debt.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the

following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Land Regulations; viz.—

No. 459, in red.—All that tract of land, half a mile wide, extending from the River Acheron to Reserve No. 408 (in red), and bounded on the south-westward by the northern bank of the Rakaia—For railway purposes.

No. 460, in red.—All that tract of land, half a mile wide, extending from Reserve No. 408 to Reserve No. 414 (in red), and bounded on the north-eastward by the Wilberforce branch of the Rakaia—For railway purposes.

No. 461, in red.—Two hundred and fifty acres, more or less, situate in the Malvern District, being bounded on the north by the Kowai River, on the east by the Waimakariri, and on the west and south by sections Nos. 4649 and 5177, and by road reserve—For the uses of the Provincial Government, and for other public purposes, and particularly for a ferry.

No. 462, in red.—Two hundred and fifty acres, more or less, situate in the Oxford District, being bounded on the west by section No. 9087, on the south and east by the Waimakariri, and on the north by a line to contain the quantity required, being at right angles to the eastern boundary of the before-mentioned section 9087—For the uses of the Provincial Government, and for other public purposes, and particularly for a ferry.

No. 467, in red.—All that tract of land, one chain wide, extending from the northern bank of the Kowai, in a northerly direction, along the side of the Terrace, and passing through sections 4769, 2912, 4074, 4739, 5071, 7050, and 7054, and terminating at the northern boundary of the latter section. Subject nevertheless to the freehold land purchased to date.—For railway purposes.

No. 468, in red.—All that tract of land, twenty chains wide, extending from the northern boundary of section 7054, and passing in a northerly direction on the western side of the Waimakariri and Steven’s Creek; thence by the northern base of Purple Hill, and between Lake Sarah and Sugar Loaf Hill, crossing the Waimakariri at the northern branch; thence following westerly along the flat on the north bank of the Waimakariri to the township of Bealey. Subject nevertheless to the freehold land purchased to date.—For railway purposes.
