In the matter of the “Debtors’ and Creditors’
Act, 1862,” and of the Estate of Thomas
Atkinson, lately carrying on business at
Lyttelton, in the said District, as an hotel
keeper, a debtor.

THIS Seventeenth day of November, One
thousand eight hundred and sixty-
three, upon reading the petition and affidavit
of Edward Allen Hargreaves in this matter,
filed on the 28th day of August last, and the
order of this Court made on the said 28th
day of August last, and upon viva voce examination of the above-mentioned debtor upon
his oath, the Court doth order that the
hearing of the said petition be adjourned
until the 15th day of December next, and
that a meeting of the creditors of the said
debtor who shall have proved their debts or
claims, shall be held at the offices of Messrs.
Harston and Cowlishaw, solicitors, in Cathedral-square, at Christchurch, in the said
province, on Monday, the

30th day of November instant,

for the purpose of recommending to this Court persons to act as trustees of the
said estate.

or style of “Jaggar and Franks,” at Kaiapoi
aforesaid, as maltsters and brewers; and
formerly of Papanui-road, Christchurch,
maltster and brewer.

Septimus Lancelot Worsley, of Christchurch aforesaid, gentleman, formerly of
Wellington, merchant and shipping agent,
and during a portion of the time trading at
Wellington aforesaid, in co-partnership with
William Wilson, under the name or style of
“Worsley, Wilson and Company,” as merchants and shipping agents.

William Merritt, of Colombo-street
south, formerly of Manchester-street, both
in Christchurch aforesaid, carter.

George Alexander, of Kaiapoi, in the
province of Canterbury, journeyman baker,
and formerly of Kaiapoi aforesaid, master
baker.

Harry Daniel Manning, of Oxford
Terrace, Christchurch, out of business, previously of Oxford Terrace aforesaid, mail
contractor and general carrier, during a portion of the time in co-partnership with
William Baines, trading as mail contractors and general carriers, under the name or
style of “Baines and Manning;” before then
of Barbadoes-street south, Town Belt East,
Christchurch aforesaid, hawker and general
dealer; formerly in co-partnership with
Thomas Preece, trading under the name or
style of “Manning and Preece,” as hawkers
and general dealers, in High-street, Christchurch, aforesaid.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that,
pursuant to orders of the Supreme Court
made in the before-mentioned matters on
the 16th, 17th, and 19th days of November
instant, the further hearing of each and all
of the said petitions is adjourned to Tuesday,
the 15th day of December next, at 11 o’clock
in the forenoon, at the Court House, Christchurch.
