✨ Land Reserves and Sales
No. 271, in red.—Six hundred and forty acres,
having one mile frontage to the sea and one mile to the north bank of the river Hokitaki, situate on the West Coast, for a township.
No. 272, in red.—Six hundred and forty acres,
having one mile frontage to the sea and one mile frontage to the south bank of the Hokitaki, situate on the West Coast, for a township.
No. 273, in red.—Six hundred and forty acres,
being a block of land having about one mile frontage to the sea in Jacob’s Bay, and extending back on the average to the south-eastward one mile, being at the mouth of a river running into the bay, for a township.
No. 274, in red.—Five thousand acres,
situate on the south bank of the river Grey, commencing at the north-west corner of a reserve for native purposes, containing 250 acres and numbered 34 of the General Government Reserves in the Grey District, for native purposes, situate at the junction of the river Arnold with the river Grey, and extending along the western and southern boundaries of the said reserve to the river Arnold, thence following along the said river in a south-easterly direction a distance of two and a half miles, thence by a straight line in a westerly direction to a point being 15 chains distant from and in continuation of the eastern boundary of a reserve for native purposes, containing 250 acres, and numbered 38 of the General Government Reserves in the Grey District, for native purposes, thence following along the eastern side of the said reserve to the river Grey, and thence along the river Grey to the commencing point, for a coal field.
No. 275, in red.—Twenty acres in the Mandeville District,
between rural Section No. 1088 and the north branch of the Waimakariri, for a gravel pit.
No. 276, in red.—Ten acres, situate in the Lyttelton District,
being bounded on the north by the ridge running down from Mount Pleasant, on the west by Section No. 1763, on the south by Section No. 258, and on the east by Pre-emptive Right, No. 205, for a range for rifle practice.
No. 277, in red.—Five acres, in the township of Arowhenua,
having about 5 chains frontage to the railway reserve and extending back easterly, a distance on the average of 10 chains south of and adjoining the main road, passing through the township from east to west. For the purpose of erecting buildings for the uses of the Provincial Government.
No. 278, in red.—Five acres in the town of Timaru,
commencing at the junction of King-street with Queen-street, following north-easterly along Queen-street a distance of about 3 chains 65 links to the creek, following along the said creek in a westerly direction to King street, and returning along the said street to the commencing point, for the purpose of erecting buildings for the uses of the Provincial Government.
