PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By His Honour Sir George Grey,
Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested by the seventh Section of "The Highways Act, 1874," I do hereby alter and amend the boundaries of the WANGAREI Highway District, as hereunder set forth.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this 6th day of June, 1876.

THE WANGAREI HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

Amended Boundaries.

Bounded towards the north by the southern boundary of the Kaurihohori Highway District; towards the east by the Waitaua and Wangarei rivers, to the Waiarohia river; towards the south by the Waiarohia river to the Bay of Islands road, thence by the Bay of Islands road to the Telegraph Office, thence along the boundary of Mr. Caffler’s field to the creek, thence following the boundary of Dr. Perston’s land to the Whau Whau block, and by the southern and south-western boundaries of the Whau Whau block aforesaid to the westernmost angle of that block; and towards the west by the western boundaries of the northern part of the Whau Whau block before mentioned, and the western boundaries of Mair’s Grant and the Kamo block, and by a road traversing the Te Pua Block to the Waitaua river. Exclusive of the Whangarei Township Highway District hereinafter described.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the seventh Section of "The Highways Act, 1874," I do hereby notify that, from and after the date hereof, all that portion of the Province of Auckland hereunder described, shall be a District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name of

THE WHANGAREI TOWNSHIP HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

All that block of land commencing at the northernmost angle of Dr. Perston’s land known as Rahi, bounded towards the north-west by the north-western boundary of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid, from the place last-named to the western boundary of Mr. Hunt’s land known as Wycombe, thence northerly by said western boundary to the northern boundary of Mr. Hunt’s land aforesaid, thence by part of the northern boundary of Mr. Hunt’s land aforesaid to the Waiarohia river and thence by the Waiarohia river aforesaid to the centre of the road which forms the south-western boundary of the subdivision into allotments of the land known as the Rev. Mr. Gorrie’s land; towards the north by the centre of said road continued through the subdivision aforesaid to the Bay of Islands road, and crossing the Bay of Islands road aforesaid to the eastern side of the road known as the Mill road, thence northerly by the eastern side of the Mill road aforesaid to the northern side of the road leading to the upper landing place, and by the northern side of said road and the northern side of the landing place, and by the northern side of the landing place aforesaid produced to the eastern bank of the Whangarei river; towards the east by high-water mark on the eastern bank of the Whangarei river aforesaid, from the place last named to a point on the same at a distance of ten chains to the eastward of the south-western angle of allotment No. 1 of the Parish of Parahaki, thence by a right line crossing the Whangarei river aforesaid to the river termination of the easternmost boundary of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid, and by said eastern boundary to the southern boundary of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid; and towards the south and south-west by the southern and south-western boundaries of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid to its westernmost angle, the place of commencement.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By His Honour Sir George Grey,
Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by "The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1874," I hereby notify for public information that all those pieces or parcels of land enumerated in the Schedule hereunder will be offered for lease, by Public Auction (for a period of twenty-one years to commence from the eighteenth day of July next), at the Waste Lands Office, Auckland, by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, on Tuesday the eighteenth day of July, 1876, at the hour of 12 o’clock noon.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this twelfth day of June, 1876.

Mangonui District.

Parish of Muriwhenua, Wynyard County, South-eastern portion of the Muriwhenua Block, 10,000 acres.
Upset price per annum, £15.

South-western portion of the Muriwhenua Block, 5,000 acres.
Upset price per annum, £7 10s.

Northern portion of the Muriwhenua Block, 10,000 acres.
Upset price per annum, £15.

N.B.—The whole or any portion of these lands may at any time during the currency of the lease be resumed by the Superintendent for the purposes of occupation or settlement.
