AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

REGULATIONS.

1st. No person shall be allowed to enter the Magazine with anything on, or about his person, which may be liable to cause ignition or explosion of any gunpowder; and it is the imperative duty of the Magazine-keeper to see that this regulation is strictly enforced.

2nd. Strangers shall not have access to the Magazine without authority, and then only in the presence of the Magazine-keeper.

3rd. The Magazine-keeper shall, previous to receiving any barrel or other package of gunpowder, ascertain by a personal examination that every barrel or other package is perfectly tight and secure, and free from any possibility of an accident.

4th. Should any barrel or other package be discovered to be in an unsafe state, the owner must make every such barrel or package perfectly safe before the Magazine-keeper receives any such barrel or package in the Magazine.

5th. Loose or insecure barrels or packages of gunpowder shall not be permitted to be made secure within the precincts of the Magazine, nor shall barrels or packages be opened within the Magazine.

6th. The Magazine-keeper must be careful that every kind of friction is avoided in the removal or storage of barrels or packages, and that a sufficient space is allowed for circulation of air.

7th. The Magazine-keeper shall as far as is practicable keep the barrels and packages of the various owners together, and their distinguishable marks visible.

8th. Smoking, or fire of any kind, shall under no circumstances be permitted within the Magazine enclosure.

9th. Gunpowder shall not be taken from the Magazine without the necessary permits or Customs license; powder for military purposes when placed in the Magazine for safe keeping being the only exception.

10th. The rates for storage shall be as follows:-
For every quarter barrel, or parcel containing 25lbs., one penny per week.
For every half barrel, or parcel containing over 25lbs. and less than 56lbs., three half-pence per week.
For every barrel, or parcel containing over 56lbs. and less than 101lbs., three pence per week.
Every barrel or parcel containing more than 101lbs. shall be charged one penny extra for every additional 25lbs or part of 25lbs.

By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby alter and amend the several boundaries of the Waikomiti and Waitakerei South Highway Districts, as hereunder set forth.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this thirty-first day of December, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

The Waikomiti Highway District.

Amended boundaries.

Bounded towards the North East by the Whau Creek from the South Eastern boundary of the land known as Henderson and Macfarlane’s Claim to the Whau Bridge; towards the South East by the Great North Road from the Whau Bridge aforesaid to the junction of the said road with the Waikomiti road, thence by the centre of the last named road being the road which forms the North Western boundaries of allotments Nos. 88, 87, 86, 85, 238A, and 128 of the Parish of Waikomiti, and by said road continued to the North Western boundary of allotment No. 48, thence by part of said North Western boundary and by part of the North Eastern and the whole of the South Eastern boundary of allotment No. 50, and by the last named boundary produced in a right line to the North Eastern boundary of allotment No. 12 of said Parish of Waikomiti, thence by part of the North Eastern, the whole of the South Eastern and by part of the South Western boundary of allotment No. 81 to the Easternmost angle of allotment No. 81 of said Parish and continuing along parts of the South Eastern and North Eastern boundaries of allotment No. 81 last named and the Eastern and part of the Southern boundaries of allotment No. 83 to the road, which forms the Eastern boundary of lot No. 132, thence following the Eastern side of said road and the South Eastern boundary of allotment No. 132, aforesaid, part of the North Eastern and the whole of the South Eastern boundary of allotment No. 63, to the road at its South Western angle and by the Eastern side of said road to a line being the production of the North Western boundary of allotment No. 61, and continuing along said line and also the North Western boundary of allotment No. 61 aforesaid, and the North Western boundary of allotment No. 62, part of the South Western boundary of allotment No. 65, and the South Eastern and South Western boundaries of allotment No. 66, and by the South Western boundary of allotment No. 66, last named produced in a right line to the centre of the road at its Westernmost angle, which also forms the North Western boundary of allotment No. 67, and by the centre of said road to the North Eastern boundary of allotment No. 68; towards the South West by the North Eastern boundary of allotment No. 68, last named to the Creek known as Parr’s Creek and by that Creek to the Southern boundary of allotment.
