tieth instant.

SCHEDULE.

Thomas Harkness and Henry Leon; fifteen years’
lease of about five acres, sixteen men’s ground,
adjoining the “Queen of the East” Claim,
Tararu; lease dated 10th May, 1871.

IT is hereby notified that the application for a
Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule here-
under has been withdrawn.

SCHEDULE.

James Anderson, James Vizard, John Heenan and
John Corrigan, applied for by John Brame;
15 years’ lease of 16 acres, situated on the Spur
between the Pukewhau Creek and the Aratapu
Creek, on the Waihu Block, west of Castle
Rock; adjoining the ground applied for under
lease by John Brame and others, now working
the Emily claim; known as the “Pride of the
Hills” and “Alabama” claims; application
dated 26th June, 1871; withdrawn 17th
January, 1872.

IN pursuance of the 20th Section of “The Auck-
land Waste Lands Act, 1870,” it is hereby
notified for general information that application
has been made to me by

Mr. Joseph Clark,
for permission to erect a Flax Mill, and construct a
Dam for the same on Sutton’s Creek, situated on the
Waiau, together with the necessary water-right.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

HEREBY notify that, in pursuance of the
seventh section of “The Highways Act, 1871,
Amendment Act, 1871,” I have appointed

Mr. Ebenezer Fitness,
to be an Auditor for the Karangahape Highway
District, in the place and stead of Mr. Joseph Warren, resigned.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested
in me by the fourth section of “The High-
ways Act, 1871,” I do hereby notify that, from and
after the date hereof, all that portion of the Province
of Auckland hereunder described shall be a District
under the said Act, and that such District shall be
known by the name of

The Coromandel Highway District,

Commencing at the mouth of the Waiau stream,
following the said stream to its junction with the
Matawai stream, thence by the Matawai stream afore-
said to the top of the Range, thence by an arbitrary
line to the head of Paul’s Creek, thence by Paul’s
Creek aforesaid to the sea, thence by the sea to the
Waiau stream the point of commencement.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this
sixth day of February, One thousand
eight hundred and seventy-two.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

IN pursuance of the Fifth Section of “The High-
ways Act, 1871,” I do hereby bring the said Act
into operation within the

Coromandel Highway District,

and I do hereby appoint the First Meeting of Rate-
payers to take place at the Albion Hotel, Coro-
mandel, on Thursday the 22nd instant, at three o’clock
p.m., and Mr Arthur Pittar to be Chairman of such
Meeting.

Given under my hand at Auckland this seventh
day of February, One thousand eight
hundred and seventy-two.

the afternamed District Boards under “The
Highways Act, 1871,” have reported in writing to
the Superintendent the names of the undermentioned
persons duly appointed Members of those Boards
respectively:—

PUREKATUA:—Henry Dacre and Maurice Kelly
vice James Inglis and Charles Jeffs, resigned.

OMAHA:—Thomas Wyatt vice John Witten,
resigned.
