boundary produced to the southernmost angle of allotment number 2 of the parish of Puni, thence by the south-western and north-western boundaries of allotment number 18, and the south-western and north-western boundaries of allotment number 19 both of the parish of Puni aforesaid to the Tramway line, thence by the centre of the Tramway line aforesaid to the north-western boundary of allotment number 91 of the parish of Waiuku East, thence by the north-western and part of the north-eastern boundary of allotment number 91 aforesaid, the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of allotment number 108, and by the centre of the road which forms the north-eastern boundaries of allotment numbers 105 and 104 all of the parish of Waiuku East aforesaid to the waters of the Mauku Estuary, thence by the Mauku Estuary aforesaid to the Manukau Harbour, and by high water mark of Manukau Harbour aforesaid and Sutton’s Creek to the south-western boundary of the parish of Karaka the place of commencement: exclusive of Camerontown.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By Joseph May, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

Under and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby notify that, from and after the date hereof, all that portion of the Province of Auckland hereunder described shall be a District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name of

The Pukekohe East Highway District.

Commencing at the junction of roads at the Northernmost angle of Allotment No. 43 of the parish of Opaheke and bounded towards the North-East by the Great South Road from the junction of roads beforenamed to the South-Eastern angle of Allotment No. 51 of the parish aforesaid; towards the South-East by the South-Eastern boundary of Allotment No. 51 aforesaid to the South-Western boundary of the parish of Maungatawhiri; again towards the North-East by the South-Western boundary of the parish of Maungatawhiri aforesaid, and thence by said parish boundary to the Waikato river; towards the South-East and South by the Waikato river aforesaid to the southern termination of a right line bearing due South from the South-Western angle of allotment No. 2 of the Parish of Tuakau; and towards the West by the right line aforesaid to the South-Western angle of allotment No. 2 of the Parish of Tuakau aforesaid, thence by the Southern boundary of said allotment No. 2 and by said boundary produced to the Northern side of the road which forms its North-Eastern boundary, thence Westerly by the Northern side of said road to the Eastern boundary of allotment No. 5, of the parish of Tuakau aforesaid, thence by said boundary to the Whakapipi river, and by said Whakapipi river to its confluence with the river O Tutainui, thence by the O Tutainui river aforesaid to its intersection by the South-Eastern boundary of allotment No. 9, of the parish Pukekohe, and by a straight line thence to the South-Eastern boundary of allotment No. 42, of the parish last-named, thence by the Eastern boundary of said allotment No. 42, and by parts of the South-Western, North-Western, and North-Eastern boundaries of allotment No. 9 of the parish of Pukekohe aforesaid to the North-Western boundary of allotment No. 21 of the said parish, thence by part of the South-Eastern boundary of allotment No. 19, and the whole of its Eastern boundary, part of the Eastern, part of the Northern and the remainder of the Eastern boundary of allotment No. 40 the Eastern boundary of allotment No. 15, part of the Southern, the Eastern, and part of the Northern boundary of allotment No. 14, and the Eastern boundaries of allotments Nos. 13 and 3, all of the parish of Pukekohe aforesaid to the South Eastern angle of Allotment No. 82 of the parish of Karaka, thence by the North-Eastern boundary of said lot No. 82 and part of the North-Eastern boundary of Allotment No. 74 both of the parish lastnamed to the South-Western angle of Allotment No. 81 thence by the South-Eastern and by part of the North-Eastern boundary of Allotment No. 81 aforesaid to the North-Western angle of original Allotment No. 75 of the parish of Opaheke; thence by said North-Western boundary to its intersection with the road traversing Allotment No. 41; and thence by Western side of said road to its junction with the Great South Road at the point of commencement.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

In pursuance of the fifth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby bring the said Act into operation within the

Pukekohe East Highway District,

and I do hereby appoint the First Meeting of Ratepayers to take place at the School Room, Pukekohe East, on Monday, the twenty-ninth day of July instant, at twelve o’clock noon; and Benjamin Harris, Esq., of East Pukekohe, to be the Chairman of such Meeting.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this twentieth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

Auckland, 22nd July, 1872.

I HEREBY notify that the respective Chairmen of the after-named District Boards, under “The Highways Act, 1871,” have reported in writing to the Superintendent the names of the under-mentioned persons, elected as Members of the said District Boards, respectively, for the ensuing Highway year, namely —

PARUA.—James Irwin Wilson, Chairman; Thomas Beasley, William Freer, Alexander McDonald, and Richard Harnett.

RUATANGATA.—Edward Millington, Chairman; E. R. Holman, John B. Powlesland, Thomas Graham, and Roderick McGregor.
