242 AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.
The Highway District of Pukekohe
(Amended Boundaries defined in Gazette No. 74, dated 2nd October, 1869, page 1,254) to be
of lot No. 60, all of the Parish of Karaka aforesaid; and on the South-West by the South-west boundaries of lots Nos. 60 aforesaid, 89, 50, 47, 38, and 29, to the Creek which forms part of the North-western boundary of lot No. 29 aforesaid, and by that Creek to the Manukau Harbour aforesaid: exclusive of all townships within the before-mentioned boundaries.
The Waiku Highway District.
Amended Boundaries.
Bounded towards the north-east by a salt-water creek being a branch of the Mauku Estuary and by the centre of the road which forms the north-eastern boundary of allotments numbers 104 and 105 of the parish of Waiku East, thence crossing a road one hundred links wide to the north-eastern boundary of allotment number 108 of the parish aforesaid, thence by the north-eastern, south-eastern, and part of the south-western boundaries of said allotment number 108 and the south-eastern boundary of allotment number 90 both of the parish of Waiku East aforesaid to the Tramway line, thence by the centre of the Tramway line aforesaid to the north-western boundary of allotment number 19 of the parish of Puni, thence by the north western and south-western boundaries of allotment number 19 and the south-western boundary of allotment number 18 both of the parish lastnamed to the north-western boundary of allotment number 2 also of the same parish, thence by the north-western and south-western boundaries of allotment number 2 aforesaid to its southernmost angle, thence by a straight line to the western boundary of the land known as the Purapura Native reserve and by the western and south-western boundaries of said reserve to the Waikato River; towards the south-east by the Waikato river aforesaid to the Awaroa River; towards the south-west by the Awaroa River aforesaid, the south-western boundaries of allotments numbers 15 and 14 of the parish of Waiku East aforesaid, thence crossing a road one hundred links wide, and by the south-western boundary of allotment number 13 of said parish to the south-western angle of allotment number 12, thence by the western boundary of said allotment number 12 and the western boundaries of allotments numbers 11 and 7, the crossing of another road one hundred links wide, the western boundary of allotment number 6, and the road which forms the western boundary of allotment number 4 all of which lastnamed allotments are in the parish of Waiku East aforesaid, and by the eastern side of said road continued to the Waiku Estuary, thence by the Waiku Estuary aforesaid to its confluence with the Mauku Estuary, and towards the north-west by the waters of the Estuary lastnamed to the creek at the north-eastern boundary of allotment number 104 of the parish of Waiku East aforesaid the place of commencement: exclusive of the villages of Purapura and Pakington.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Under and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the fourth section of The Highways Act, 1871, I do hereby notify that from and after the date hereof, all that portion of the Province of Auckland hereunder described shall be a District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name of:
THE WAIUKU HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the north-east by the south-western boundary of the parish of Karaka from Suttonβs Creek to the south-eastern boundary of allotment number 38 of the parish of Pukekohe, thence by the south-eastern boundary of the lot last named to the north-eastern boundary of the parish of Puni, and by the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of said parish to the Waikato River; towards the south-east by the Waikato River aforesaid to the south-western boundary of the land known as the Purapura Native reserve; towards the south-west by the south-western and western boundaries of the Purapura reserve aforesaid and by the last named...
The Pukekohe West Highway District.
Commencing at the South-Western angle of allotment No. 60 of the parish of Karaka, and being bounded towards the North by the South-Eastern boundary of allotment No. 60 aforesaid, and the South-Eastern boundaries of allotments numbers 79 and 82 to the South-Eastern angle of allotment No. 82 last named, all of the Parish of Karaka aforesaid; towards the East by the Eastern boundaries of allotments Nos. 3 and 13, of the Parish of Pukekohe, part of the Northern, the Eastern, and part of the Southern boundaries of allotment No. 14, the Eastern boundary of allotment No. 15, part of the Eastern, part of the Northern, and remainder of the Eastern boundaries of allotment No. 40, the Eastern and South-Eastern boundaries of allotment No. 19, the South-Eastern boundary of allotment No. 24, to its Southernmost angle, thence by part of the Western boundary of allotment No. 9, and the Eastern boundary of allotment No. 42, and by a straight line thence to the South-Eastern boundary of allotment No. 9 aforesaid at the point of its intersection by the O-Tainui River, thence by said River to its confluence with the Whakapipi River, thence by the Whakapipi River aforesaid to the North-Eastern angle of allotment No. 5 of the Parish of Tukano, thence by Eastern boundary of last-named lot to the road at its Southern angle, thence by the Northern side of said road to a line, being the production in an Easterly direction of the Southern boundary of allotment No. 2, of the Parish of Tukano aforesaid, thence by said line and by the Southern boundary of allotment No. 2 last named to its South-western angle, and thence by a right line bearing due South to the Waikato River; towards the South by the Waikato River, from the Southern termination of the line last described to the Eastern boundary of the Parish of Puni; and towards the West by the Eastern and part of the North-Eastern boundaries of the Parish of Puni aforesaid to the South-Eastern angle of allotment No. 38 of the Parish of Pukekohe aforesaid; thence by the South-Eastern and part of the North-Eastern boundaries of allotment No. 38 last named to the South-Western angle of allotment No. 60 of the Parish of Karaka aforesaid the place of commencement.

Under and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the fourth section of The Highways Act, 1871, I do hereby notify that I have altered and amended both the name and the boundaries of the Pukekohe District, under the said Act, as hereunder set forth.
