PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 28th May, 1872.

IN pursuance of the 20th section of “The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1870,” it is hereby notified for general information that application has been made to me by

MR. SAMUEL JNO. DE CARTERET

for permission to construct a Dam across the Papakura River on lot 21 of the parish of Papakura, together with the necessary Water-right.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the fourth section of “The Highways Act 1871,” I do hereby alter and amend the several boundaries of the KARAKA and WAIUKU Highway Districts as hereunder set forth.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this twentieth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

PROCLAMATION.

By JOSEPH MAY, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by an Act of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, intituled “An Act to Abate the Nuisance caused by Dogs,” (Session 1, No. 4, 1854), I do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the publication hereof, the said Act shall come into operation within the District of

HAMILTON WEST TOWNSHIP,

as constituted under “The Highways Act, 1871.”

Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the Province, at Auckland, this twenty-second day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

THE KARAKA HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

Amended Boundaries.

Bounded on the North-West by the waters of the Manukan Harbour, the Hingahia Creek, and Slippery Creek, to the Great South Road; on the North-East by the Great South Road aforesaid, to its junction with the road which forms the boundary between allotments Nos. 40 and 43 of the Parish of Opaheke, and by the Western side of said road to the point of its intersection by the North-western boundary of original allotment No. 75, of the Parish of Opaheke aforesaid, thence by said North-western boundary of allotment No. 75 aforesaid, to the North-eastern boundary of allotment No. 81 of the Parish of Karaka, and continuing Southerly along the North-eastern boundary of allotment No. 81 aforesaid, to its South-eastern angle; towards the South-East by the South-eastern boundary of allotment No. 81 of the Parish of Karaka, part of the North-eastern boundary of lot No. 74, the North-eastern and South-eastern boundaries of lot No. 82, the South-eastern boundary of lot No. 79, and the South-eastern boundary
