AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

Any person sending for and not employing a carriage shall pay the fare from the stand.

For detention—the charge shall be 1s. per quarter hour.

For night work—
Between 8 p.m. and midnight a fare and a half.
Between midnight and 5 a.m. Double fare.
Wharf Toll not included in the fare.
Half fare to be charged for return journey when occupied when not engaged by time.
Fares for One Horse Carriages.

Two-horse Dray, 4s. 6d. first hour, 4s. afterwards.

The Fares will be one-fourth less than for Drays.

Every carter shall assist in loading and unloading, and if able must load and unload the cart himself.

No privy or cesspool shall be emptied, nor any nightsoil carted away, nor any offensive liquor or matter of any kind whatsoever pumped out of or removed from any house, cellar, or premises within the Borough, except between the hours of midnight and six o’clock ante meridian.

REGULATION No. 2.
REGULATIONS FOR CARTS.
REGULATIONS of the Council of the Borough of Auckland, made under Special Order of the said Council, dated the 2nd day of October, 1871, confirmed the 1st day of November, 1871, and sealed with the Common Seal of the Council of the said Borough this 2nd day of November, 1871.
In pursuance of section 73, sub-division 2 of part X, Schedule 13 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” the Council of the Borough of Auckland make the following Regulation; that is to say:—

The sum to be paid for a License for any Cart shall be (£1) One Pound.

The weight to be carried for a single load by any Cart licensed to stand or ply for hire shall be one ton.

The standings for licensed carts shall be as follows:—
Express Vans
May stand behind the carriages on the stand in Queen-street, opposite the old Supreme Court site, also in Victoria-street West and Fort-street.
Drays
May stand in Victoria-street East and Fort-street.
REGULATION No. 3.
REGULATIONS FOR HAWKERS.
REGULATION of the Council of the Borough of Auckland made under Special Order of the said Council, dated the 2nd day of October, 1871, confirmed the 1st day of November, 1871, and sealed with the Common Seal of the Council of the said Borough the 2nd day of November, 1871.
In pursuance of Section 88 Sub-division 4, Part X. of the 13th Schedule of “The Municipal Corporations Act 1867,” the Council of the Borough of Auckland make the following Regulations, that is to say:—

Every person who shall exercise or carry on the business of a hawker, pedlar, petty chapman, or any other trading person, carrying to sell or exposing for sale any goods, wares, or merchandise within the Borough shall be required to take out a license.

Every such license shall be in the form in the Schedule hereto annexed, and the same shall be in force for six months from the date of the issue thereof.

Such license shall be issued by the Town Clerk to any person applying for the same on payment of a sum of one pound (£1), and such application shall be
