THE Flagship Golden Anchor Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by Henry George Corlett; 15 years’ lease, of 3 acres, more or less, of auriferous quartz reef; bounded on the west by “Cable” Gold Mining Company’s lease, on the north by the “Pretty Nelly” claim, and on the south and east by unoccupied ground, Karaka; ground held under Miners’ Rights, and known as the “Flagship” claim; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1 p.m. on the 29th September, 1871. ALFRED WEBB PULLMAN, of Grahamstown, Miner; 15 years’ lease, of 16 acres, bounded by the “Cremorne” on the east, the “Loyality” on the west, the Karaka Creek on the north, and unoccupied ground on the south, Karaka; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10:20 a.m. on the 30th September, 1871—R.B. 965.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IT is hereby notified that the Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder has been surrendered, and I do hereby revoke the exemption of the land therein mentioned from occupation for mining purposes, and declare the same to be open for occupation.

THE Onehunga Gold Mining Company, Registered, 15 years’ lease of 5 acres 1 rood 11 perches, more or less, situated on Karaka Creek, adjoining the “Prosperity,” “Coulabah,” “Argyle,” “Happy-go-Lucky,” “Hokianga,” and “Ebenezer” claims; lease dated 27th July, 1870; surrendered 31st August 1871.
COROMANDEL GOLDFIELD.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN pursuance of the 29th section of “The Goldfields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.
Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Coromandel.

SCHEDULE.
JAMES THOMAS; 15 years’ lease of 10 acres of quartz mining land, known as the “Flying Cloud” claim, Coromandel Goldfield, partly held under Miners’ Rights of Flying Cloud Claim. Easements required—Right of way to Creek (the Whakaroa), and road to beach; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 11 a.m., 21st September, 1871.
WALTER WILLIAMSON; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, situate to the south of the “Kapanga” leased ground, and bounded on the east by the “Conquering Hero” Claim, not held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 11:15 a.m., 21st September, 1871.
THE Koh-i-noor Gold Mining Company, to be registered, applied for by Thomas Douglas; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, situated on Keven’s Hill, Coromandel, adjoining the “Pacific” and “Golden Pah” leases; partly held under Miners’ Rights of “Koh-i-noor” Claim; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 3:10 p.m., 21st September, 1871.
ALBERT WALKER, applied for by Ernest Bieber; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, quartz land, situated at the Tokatea Range, next to the “Margarite” lease on the north side, not held under Miner’s Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 12:15 p.m., 25th September, 1871.
CHARLES DEVEREUX STANIER, applied for by Charles Forster Burder; 15 years’ lease of 5 acres 1 rood quartz mining land; Claim known as “Daylight” Claim, Coromandel, and unoccupied ground adjoining the same; partly held under Miner’s Rights of “Daylight” Claim; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 1:20 p.m., 25th September, 1871.
EDWARD PRATT; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres of auriferous land, situated in a southerly direction from the New Zealand Battery, and known as Murphy’s Hill; ground partially held under Miners’ Rights of “None-such” claim; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 3:5 p.m. on the 2nd October, 1871.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By JOSEPH MAY, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent in that behalf by “The Impounding Act, 1867,” I do hereby abolish as a Public Pound those premises situated at Shortland, erected by Mr. George Wilson, on Public Reserve B, Town of Shortland, as notified in the Provincial Government Gazette No. 22, of date the 17th April, 1868; and I do hereby appoint in lieu thereof all that piece of land situate in the District of Hauraki, Queen’s County, in the Province of Auckland, being part of Waitanoina No. 1271, now known as Block 27, on the Record Map of Shortland; bounded towards the South by Clarence-street, towards the North by other part of the said Block by a line parallel to Clarence-street aforesaid, towards the West by Ballis-street 66 feet, and towards the East by the Hape Creek, to be and be used as a Public Pound for the purposes of the said recited Act.
Given under my hand at Auckland, this seventh day of October, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.
