HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN pursuance of the 29th section of “The Goldfields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.
Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.
GEORGE BULL, of Shortland, Quartz-crusher; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, more or less, auriferous quartz land; bounded on the south-west by Bull’s Battery No. 2, on the south by part of the “Happy-go-Lucky” Claim, on the north by part of the “Hokianga” Claim, and on other sides by abandoned ground, Karaka Creek; abandoned ground not held under Miners’ Rights—part of the “Hokianga” and “Happy-go-Lucky” Claims, and the “Karaka” Gold Mining Company; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 3 p.m. on the 21st September, 1871—R.B. 959.
THE Brighton Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by James Higgins; 15 years’ lease of 12 acres; bounded by the “Cambria,” “McDonnells,” “City of Adelaide,” and “Australasian” leased grounds, Waiotahi Creek, Karaka Block; lease to Stephen E. Richards of date July 27th, 1871, to be surrendered for the purpose of this application; remainder of ground applied for now unoccupied; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 12.20 p.m. on the 22nd September, 1871—R.B. 960.
THE Queensferry Gold Mining Company, to be Registered; applied for by John Calder; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, bounded by the “Highland Chief,” “City of Dunedin,” and the “Felix” Gold Mining Companies’ ground, Tinkers Gully, Tararu; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 12.40 p.m. on the 23rd September, 1871—R.B. 961.
JAMES DARROW, of Grahamstown, Miner; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, bounded on the south by the “Felix” lease, on the west by the Kai Kai Creek, and on the east by unoccupied ground, Tinkers’ Gully, Tararu; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11 a.m. on the 26th September, 1871—R.B. 962.
ALEXANDER HILL and AUSTIN DALY, of Grahamstown, Miners; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, bounded on the north by “Loyalty” lease, east by Groves Claim, and on other sides by unoccupied ground, Karaka; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11.35 a.m. on the 27th September, 1871—R.B. 963.
