AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.
WILLIAM HORNE; 10 years’ lease of 15 acres, more or less, quartz reef on the Tokatea range, north of the “Masonic” and “Puketutu” leases, unoccupied ground, not held under Miners’ Rights. Easement required—continuation of the present Tokatea tramway to the claim; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 1.20 p.m., 12th September, 1871.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IT is hereby notified that the application for a Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder has been withdrawn.

SCHEDULE.
THE Royal Oak Gold Mining Company, Tokatea range, Coromandel, applied for by W. Horne; 15 years’ lease of 2 acres, more or less, being all that parcel of land, bounded on the north by the “Tokatea” Gold Mining Company’s ground, on the south and west by the “Little and Good” claim, and on the east by the “Little Wonder” Gold Mining Company’s ground, known as the “Royal Oak” claim, and held under Miners’ Rights; application dated 7th August, 1871; withdrawn 12th September, 1871.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the 4th section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby abolish the District under the said Act, known as the TAURANGA Highway District.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby notify that all that portion of the Province of Auckland hereunder described shall be a District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name prefixed thereto, that is to say—THE TAURANGA NORTH TOWNSHIP HIGHWAY DISTRICT, being all that portion of the Town of Tauranga situate to the North of the centre of the road which forms the north-eastern boundary of allotments Nos 506, 507, 509, 511, 514, and 517 of section No. 2 and Blocks Nos. 29 and 30 of the Church Mission Lands.

IN pursuance of the fifth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby bring the said Act into operation within the TAURANGA NORTH TOWNSHIP HIGHWAY DISTRICT, and I do appoint the First Meeting of Ratepayers to take place at Captain Fraser’s Store, Tauranga, on Saturday, the thirtieth day of September instant, at 6.30 o’clock, p.m., and E. G. Norris, Esq., to be Chairman of such meeting.

Bounded towards the north by the harbour of Tauranga; towards the east by the harbour aforesaid and the Waimapu river to the south-eastern angle of allotment No. 270, which said allotment, together with all the allotments hereinafter mentioned, are in the parish of Te Papa; towards the south by the southern boundary of said allotment No. 270, thence crossing a road one hundred links wide to the southern boundary of allotment No. 259, thence by said southern boundary to the road, which forms part of the eastern boundary of allotment No. 258, thence by the centre of said road to the southern boundary of allotment No. 258 aforesaid, thence by said last-named boundary and the southern boundary of allotment No. 256 to the road which forms the eastern boundary of allotment No. 225, thence by the centre of said road to the southern boundary of said allotment No. 225, and by said last-named boundary and by the southern boundary of allotment No. 221 to the road which forms its south-western boundary, thence by the centre of said road, and by the centre of the road which forms the southern boundary of allotment No. 142, to the southern boundary of allotment No. 188, thence by said last-named boundary to the road which forms the north-western boundary of allotment No. 138
