The Kuranui Gold Mining Company, Registered,
applied for by Charles Tothill; 15 years' lease of about 16 acres, quartz reef, Kuranui Creek;
bounded on the east by the "Long Drive" Gold Mining Company's ground; on the north-east by the "Kuranui" Company’s No. 2 lease; and on the south by the Hauraki Gulf, Karaka Block;
known as the "Kuranui" Claim, and part of "Wakatipu" Claim, held under lease granted to the Company, 30th September, 1870, to be surrendered for the purpose of this application;

John Edwin Macdonald, of Shortland; 15 years’ lease of 3 acres, more or less, auriferous, bounded by the "Perseverance" Claim, on the south by the "Mariners’ Reef," and on the west by the "Cornstalk" and "Sailor Prince" Claims, Karaka, known as the "Hand and Band" Claim, held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 2 p.m., 7th June, 1871.—R.B. 903.
The Una Quartz Crushing and Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by Frederick F. Day; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, situated on the Karaka Hill, adjoining the "McDonald" claim and the "Clyde and Tyne" Claims, Karaka Block, known as part of Una No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, and Pride of Karaka Claims; held under lease and Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10.53 a.m., 9th June, 1871.—R.B. 904.

The Vale of Avoca Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by Robert M. Mitchell; 15 years' lease of 5 acres, more or less, auriferous quartz, bounded by the "Southern Pacific" Gold Mining Company, Registered, by the "Ngapuhi" Claim, by the "Abyssinian" Gold Mining Company, and by the "Ballarat" Claim.
Karaka Block, known as the "Vale of Avoca," "Arrah-na-pogue," and "Thunderbolt" Claims, held under Miners' Rights; application received in Warden's Office, Grahamstown, at 10.12 a.m. 10th June, 1871.—R.B. 906.
The Durhan Ox Gold Mining Company, Registered,
applied for by David Philip; 15 years' lease of 15 men’s ground, more or less, auriferous quartz, bounded by the "Great Britain" on the north, by the "Virginia" Gold Mining Company on the north-east, by the "Dauntless and Sink to Rise" on the south-east, by the "Daylight" Gold Mining Company on the west, situated on the Moanataiari Creek, Karaka, formerly held by the "Southern Cross" Gold Mining Company, Registered; not held under Miners' Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11.25 a.m. 10 June, 1871.—R.B. 907.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance of sub-section 3 of Section 35 of the Regulations for the granting of Mining Leases, re-entry has been made by the Lessor upon the ground demised by the Lease hereunder named, and the Lessee’s estate therein determined, and I do hereby revoke the exemption of the lands therein described from occupation for Mining purposes, and declare the same now open for occupation.
