REGULATIONS relative to the Receipt and Delivery of Gunpowder, and Charges for Storage, &c., in the new Magazine at Shortland.
1st. No person shall be allowed to enter the Magazine with anything on, or about his person, which may be liable to cause ignition, or explosion, of any gunpowder; and it is the imperative duty of the Magazine keeper, to see that this Regulation is strictly enforced.
2nd. Strangers shall not have access to the Magazine without authority, and then only in the presence of the Magazine keeper.
3rd. The Magazine keeper shall, previous to receiving any barrel or other package of gunpowder, ascertain by a personal examination that every barrel or other package is perfectly tight and secure, and free from any possibility of an accident.
4th. Should any barrel or other package be discovered to be in an unsafe state, the owner must make every such barrel or package perfectly safe before the Magazine keeper receives any such barrel or package in the Magazine.
5th. Loose or insecure barrels or packages of gunpowder shall not be permitted to be made secure within the precincts of the Magazine, nor shall barrels or packages be opened within the Magazine.
6th. The Magazine keeper must be careful that every kind of friction is avoided in the removal or storage of barrels or packages, and that a sufficient space is allowed for circulation of air.
7th. The Magazine keeper shall, as far as practicable, keep the barrels and packages of the various owners together, and their distinguishing marks visible.
8th. Smoking or fire of any kind shall, under no circumstances, be permitted within the Magazine enclosure.
9th. Gunpowder shall not be taken from the Magazine without the necessary permits or Customs’ license. Powder for Military purposes, when placed in the Magazine for safe keeping, being the only exception.
Rates for storage to be—
10th. For every quarter barrel, or parcel containing 25lbs.—one penny per week.
For every half barrel, or parcel containing over 25lbs. and less than 56lbs.—three half-pence per week.
For every barrel, or parcel containing over 56lbs. and less than 100lbs.—three pence per week.
Every barrel or parcel containing more than 100lbs. should be charged one penny extra for every additional 25lbs. or part of 25lbs.

The nominal capital of the Company is Forty thousand (40,000) Pounds, in Forty thousand shares of One Pound each.

The amount already paid-up in cash is nil; allotted in fully paid up shares (10,000) Ten thousand Pounds, being the estimated value of the mine.

The place of operations is at near the head of the Moanataiari Creek, and adjoining the Tradesman’s Company at the Thames Gold Field, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.
