PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 20th January, 1870.
In pursuance of the 29th Section of The Gold Fields Act, 1866, and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.
Objections to granting the following applications, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at Shortland, within the time prescribed by the aforesaid Regulations.
Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Shortland.

SCHEDULE.
CHARLES TOTHILL, for the Odd Fellows Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 1½ acres of ground; bounded by the Kuranui, Homeward Bound, All Nations, Junction, and Shotover Gold Mining Companies’ claims; situate at Kuranui; held under miners’ rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Shortland, at 10-10 a.m. 17th January, 1870.
G. B. HOWELL, for the Waiotahi Gold Mining Company (Registered); 15 years’ lease of about 2 acres adjoining the Waiotahi Gold Mining Company’s (Registered) ground, the St. Lawrence and Prince Albert claims; situate on the Waiotahi Creek, known as the United Gold Mining Company’s (Registered) ground; application received in Warden’s Office, Shortland, at 11.20 a.m., 19th January, 1870.

It is hereby notified that the several Applications for Mining Leases, set forth in the Schedule hereunder, have been withdrawn, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under miners’ rights, is now open for occupation.

WILLIAM FORD DANEY, 15 years’ lease of 15 acres adjoining the Golden Cross and Maximilian Gold Mining Company’s grounds; situate in the Otonui Block, Hape Creek; application notified in Gazette No. 70, dated 25th September, 1869, page 1187; withdrawn 30th November, 1869.
WILLIAM AUSTRALIA GRAHAM and others, 2 years’ lease of 5 acres; bounded on one side by the New Zealander claim, and on another side by the Carbon claim; situate in Paul’s Creek, Coromandel; application notified in Gazette No. 3, dated 8th January, 1870, page 17; withdrawn 16th December, 1869.
JOHN LYVESON, 15 years’ lease of 16 acres; bounded by unoccupied ground on all sides; situate at Puriri, known as the Omega claim; application notified in Gazette No. 86, dated 8th November, 1869, page 1519; withdrawn 7th January, 1870.
JOHN GRAHAM CAMPBELL and others, 14 years’ lease of 15 acres, adjoining ground bounded on the north-east by Star of Fortune claim, on the south by Pride of Puriri claim, and on the other sides by spare ground; situate at Puriri, known as the Sir Colin Campbell claim; application notified in Gazette No. 62, dated 6th September 1869, page 972; withdrawn 17th January, 1870.
WILLIAM DEAN for the Crinoline Gold Mining Company, 15 years’ lease of 15 acres; bounded on the east by the Scottish Chief, on the north, west and south by unoccupied ground; situate on Tararu Creek, known as the Crinoline Gold Mining Company’s claim; application notified in Gazette No. 92, dated 1st December, 1869, page 1702; withdrawn 18th January, 1870.
PETER JOSEPH DALTON, for the McIvor Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres; bounded by the following claims, viz., O’Keeffe’s Lease, Crown Prince Gold Mining Company, and Halcyon Gold Mining Company; situate at the Karaka Creek; application notified in Gazette No. 73, dated 29th September, 1869, page 1233; withdrawn 19th January, 1870.
PETER JOSEPH DALTON, for the Bullion Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 3 acres; bounded by the following claims: Diggers’ Friend, Atlas, St. Catherine, and Great Northern Gold Mining Company; situate on Waiotahi Creek; application notified in Gazette No. 76, dated 7th October, 1869, page 1994; withdrawn 19th January, 1870.
CHARLES ROWLEY, 15 years’ lease of 16 acres; adjoining the Long Castle Gold Mining Company (Registered), and Native Burial Ground; situate in the Te Waka Block, known as the Invincible Gold Mining Company’s claim; application notified in Gazette No. 82, dated 29th October, 1869, page 1446; withdrawn 22nd January, 1870.
ROBERT WITHEROW, for the Oriental Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 15 acres; adjoining the Perseverance Crushing Machine, Slaughter-yard Creek; situate at Puriri; application notified in Gazette No. 57, dated 25th August, 1869, page 827; withdrawn 22nd January, 1870.
