HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

In pursuance of the 29th Section of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

George William Jones, for the Shooting Star Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 3½ acres more or less; auriferous quartz land; situate on the Moanataiari Creek, including the “Shooting Star” and “Hand-in-Hand” Company’s ground; bounded by the “Providence” Company, “North Star” Company, “Middle Star” Company, “General Grant” Company, “Pukehinau” Company, and “United Service” Company’s ground, Karaka; held under Miners’ Rights. Application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1.25 p.m., 1st September, 1870, No. 787.

R. McDonald Scott, for the Eureka Gold Mining Company, Registered; 13 years’ lease of about 2½ acres; designated hitherto as “Columbia” Claim, peg and peg with “Eureka” Claim, Kuranui, Karaka. Application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 2 p.m., 1st September, 1870, No. 788.

Robert Blazeau; 15 years’ lease of 10 acres more or less, auriferous quartz; bounded by the “Californian” and the “Emerald” Gold Mining Companies’ ground, Tararu; abandoned ground, not held under Miners’ Rights. Application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 2.5 p.m., 1st September, 1870, No. 789.

James Robb; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres, more or less; bounded by the “Lady Bird,” “William the Conqueror,” the “City of Dunedin,” and unoccupied ground, Tararu; known as the “City of Edinburgh” Claim. Application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1.25 p.m., 6th September, 1870, No. 790.


PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that a Lease has been refused to the Applicant named in the Schedule hereunder, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.

Plan may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.
