NOTICE is hereby given that the claims to land advertised to have been heard at Ohinemuri on the 31st of August, 1870, will be heard at Shortland, on the 18th day of October next.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IT is hereby notified that the Application for a Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder was withdrawn on the 11th July, 1870.

G. B. HOWELL, for the Waiotahi Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of about 2 acres, situate on the Waiotahi Creek; adjoining the “Waiotahi” Gold Mining Company’s ground, the “Saint Lawrence” and “Prince Albert” Claims; known as the “United” Gold Mining Company’s ground; application notified in Gazette No. 7, dated 28th January, 1870, page 57; withdrawn 11th July, 1870.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IT is hereby notified that the Applications for Mining Leases set forth in the Schedule hereunder have been abandoned, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.
Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

JAMES HUTT, for the Springfield Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of about 3 acres; situated on Tradesman’s Gully, Karaka Creek, adjoining the “Golden Valley” Claim; known as the “Springfield” Claim; application notified in Gazette No. 75, dated 4th October, 1869, page 1,273.

Advertisements must be forwarded to the Superintendent’s Office at Auckland, or to the authorized Agent at Shortland or at Coromandel, with pre-payment of the charge for insertion at the rates above specified.
Advertisements should be written on one side of the paper; and names, signatures, &c., must be written in a legible hand, to save mistakes.
The number of insertions required should be written across the face of the advertisement.
The Government will not guarantee the publication of any notice or advertisement within a given date; nor will the same be inserted unless pre-paid.
SUBSCRIPTION.
The subscription is at the rate of £2 per annum or 10s. 6d. per quarter, payable in advance.
Subscriptions are required to terminate with the quarters ending March, June, September, or December. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

SEPARATE Tenders will be received at this Office until noon of Monday, the 19th instant, from persons willing to contract for the after-named supplies for the Provincial Government, during the three months commencing on the 1st October, proximo:—

- BREAD FOR THE PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL and ORAKI REFUGE.
Printed forms of Tender and copies of the conditions and specifications can be obtained at this Office.
