PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that the Application for a Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder has been abandoned, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.

Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

EDWARD KING and others, shareholders of City of Canterbury Claim: 15 years’ lease of about 10 acres; known as "City of Canterbury," and unoccupied ground on the west side; adjoining the "Great Central Lease" Company’s Claim; bounded also by the "Alladin’s Lamp," "Golden Anchor," and "Black Eagle" Claims, Hape Creek; application notified in Gazette No. 61, dated 3rd September, 1869, page 924.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that the several Mining Leases set forth in the Schedule hereunder, have been cancelled on account of non-execution, and that all rights, privileges, and claims in respect of the applications for the same are deemed to have been forfeited, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.

Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

MacIsaacs’ Extended Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by Alexander McKechnie; 15 years’ lease of 12 acres; adjoining McIsaacs’ and Stark’s reef; the “Dreadnaught” Claim, and the “Victoria” Gold Mining Company’s ground; application notified in Gazette No. 43, dated 9th July, 1869, page 571.

The Polynesia Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by David George Smale; 15 years’ lease of 14 acres; situated on the Tararu Block, adjoining the ground applied for by the “Resolute Gold Mining Company” on the South side; known as the “Star of Polynesia” Claim, 14 men’s ground, and the “Young Colonial” Claim, 8 men’s ground. Application notified in Gazette No. 58, dated 27th August, 1869, page 851.

The Southern Interest Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by David George Smale; 15 years’ lease of 10 acres or thereabouts; situated on the Upper Tararu Creek about Waterfall, and bounded on the South by the “Ohio” and “Great Reliance” Gold Mining Companies, and on the West by the main branch of Tararu. Application notified in Gazette No. 59, dated 30th August, 1869, page 875.

The Princetown Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by John Peters; 15 years’ lease of 2 acres more or less; situated on the Alabama Creek, Karaka Block; bounded by the “Star of Fermanagh” Company, on the West by the “Golden Run No. 1,” on the South by the “Sacramento and Alabama” Company, and on the East by the “Merry England”; known as the “Reindeer” Claim. Application notified in Gazette No. 70, dated 25th September, 1869, page 1191.

The Little Julia Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by W. B. Heath; 15 years lease of 3 acres and 19 perches; situate on the Karaka Block, adjoining “May Queen” and “Peruvian” Gold Mining Companies. Application notified in Gazette No. 69, dated 22nd September, 1869, page 1139.

The Tower of London Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by Alexander Thomson; 15 years’ lease of 7 acres more or less; situate on the top of Tinker’s Gully, next the “British Queen” and “Burke’s” Claim, and formerly known as the “Yellow Star” and “Star of Ireland” and “Star of Glengarry” Claims, and unoccupied ground adjoining. Application notified in Gazette No. 56, dated 23rd August, 1869, page 788.

The United Miners’ Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by Robert Galloway; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres more or less, bush land on the South-west side of the “Golden Phoenix” Claim on the Otunui Block. Application notified in Gazette No. 57, dated 25th August, 1869, page 822.

The Merry England Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by John Cummins Morphet; 15 years’ lease of 3 acres and 25 perches; adjoining the “Star of Fermanagh,” “Great United,” and “Silver Cloud” Companies, Lucky Hit Spur, Karaka Creek. Application notified in Gazette No. 67, dated 17th September, 1869, page 1084.

The True Briton No. 2 Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by John W. Pearse; 15 years’ lease of 2½ acres or thereabouts; bounded on the North by the “Bank of New Zealand,” East, by the “Prosperity,” South by the “True Briton No. 1,” and on the West by the Collarbone Spur; known as the “Royal Alfred,” “True Briton No. 2,” and “Chance” Claims. Application notified in Gazette No. 61, dated 3rd September, 1869, page 926.
