BY virtue of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the third section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby notify that the portion of the Province of Auckland comprised within the boundaries hereunder described, shall be a District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name thereto prefixed, that is to say—

THE KAIO HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

To commence at the Waikoura Stream, from thence in a straight line to the Northern angle of Mr. Spickman’s land; thence following Mr. Spickman’s boundary line to its junction with the Waiwakapirau Stream following down this Stream, including Western Taraire Block to its junction with King’s land, following Western boundary of King’s land down the Katiaka Stream to its junction with Shepherd’s land; thence following boundary between King and Shepherd’s land to the North-eastern angle of Shepherd’s land known as Upokorau and Waiari Block, following the Southern boundary of said land until it joins the Eastern boundary of Joyce’s land; thence following the Eastern and Southern boundaries of Joyce’s land to its junction with the Southern boundary of the Matawherohia block; thence by a stream leading into the Pupuke River, following the Pupuke to its junction with the harbour; from thence to mouth of Kaio, and from mouth of Kaio to starting point at mouth of Waikoura.

THE DISTRICT OF WANGAROA NORTH.

Amended Boundaries.

Bounded towards the North by the sea from the East Head of Wangaroa Harbour to the mouth of the Takou River; towards the South-east by the Takou River aforesaid to its confluence with the Taraire River; towards the South by the Taraire River aforesaid to its confluence with the Waiwakapirau Stream; thence by said last-named Stream to the Northern boundary of Spickman’s land; thence following said boundary, and by a right line thence to the mouth of the Waikoura Stream; and towards the West by the waters of the Wangaroa Harbour from the mouth of the Waikoura Stream aforesaid to the East Head of said Harbour of Wangaroa the place of commencement.
