PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent's Office,
Auckland, 22nd December, 1869.
IT is hereby notified that the Tolls, &c., for the period commencing the 16th January, 1870, and terminating on the 31st December, 1870, enumerated in the Schedule hereunder written, will be offered for sale by public auction by Messrs. Cochrane and Son, at their mart in Fort-street, on Thursday, the 6th day of January, proximo, at twelve o’clock noon.

The Tolls leviable at the Panmure Bridge.

The Tolls leviable at the Newmarket Turnpike Gate, and at the Remuera and Mount Eden Road (East) Chain Bars, together with the Fees chargeable at the Newmarket Weigh-bridge.

The Tolls leviable at the Otahuhu and Slippery Creek Turnpike Gates.

The Tolls leviable at the New North Road Toll Gate.

The Tolls leviable at the Mount Eden Road Toll Gate (next the Eden Vine Hotel), and at the Gaol Road Chain Bar, together with the royalty leviable for Scoria-ash taken from the gravel-pit on the Mount Eden Reserve.

The Tolls leviable at the Newton Toll Gate on the Great North Road, at its junction with Ponsonby Road.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By THOMAS BANNATYNE GILLIES, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
BY virtue of the powers in me vested by the third clause of “The Highways Act, 1867,” I do hereby notify that all that portion of the Province of Auckland which is hereunder described shall be a District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name thereto prefixed, that is to say,
THE POKENO HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the North-east by part of the Northern boundary and by the whole of the North-eastern boundary of allotment No. 102 of the parish of Maungatawhiri, to the road which forms its Southern boundary; thence to the centre of said road, and to the centre of the road which forms the North-eastern boundary of allotment No. 7 of the same parish, to the road which forms the North-western boundary of allotment No. 106, also of the Parish aforesaid; thence to the centre of the road last described, to the Porouroroa stream, to the Western margin of the Mangamata lake, to the Great South Road; towards the South-west by the Great South Road aforesaid, from the Maungatawhiri Creek to the North-western boundary of the Parish of Maungatawhiri aforesaid, from the Great South Road to the Northern boundary of allotment No. 102 aforesaid, the point of commencement.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN pursuance of the fourth clause of “The Highways Act, 1867,” I do hereby bring the said Act into operation within the POKENO Highway District, and appoint the First Meeting of Electors to take place at the Presbyterian School Room, at Pokeno, Great South Road, on Saturday, the fifteenth day of January proximo, at three o’clock in the afternoon.
