at a distance of 3 chains from the southern side of the New North Road, thence by said line to the stream aforesaid, and by said stream and the north-eastern boundary of allotment No 65, to the road which forms its south-eastern boundary ; towards the south-east by the centre of the road which forms the southern boundary of allotment No. 65 of the parish aforesaid, from the south-eastern angle of said allotment to its junction with the road which forms the eastern boundary of allotment No. 85 of the parish before named, thence by the centre of the roads which form the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of said allotment No. 85, and by the centre of the road which forms the south-eastern boundary of allotment No. 86 of the same parish, to its south-western boundary ; and towards the south-west by the south-western boundary of allotment No 86, aforesaid, and the Whau Creek, to the Waitemata Harbour, the place of commencement.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the third section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby notify, for general information, that I have altered and amended the boundaries of the MAKETU District under the said Act, as hereunder set forth.

THE MAKETU DISTRICT.
(Former boundaries detailed in Gazette No. 44, vol. xvi, folio 410).

Amended Boundaries.

Bounded towards the north-west by the south-eastern boundary of the Hunua Highway District, from the Great South Road to the Mangawheau River, thence by said river and a straight line bearing due east, to the northernmost angle of allotment No. 119 of the parish of Opaheke ; towards the north-east by the centre of the road which forms the north-eastern boundaries of allotments Nos. 119 and 121, the northern and eastern boundaries of allotment 98, eastern boundaries of allotments Nos. 104 and 99, and part of the northern boundary of allotment No. 122, all of the parish of Opaheke aforesaid, to the eastern boundary of the last named lot, thence by said eastern boundary to the road which forms the southern boundary of allotment No. 122 before named, and by the centre of said road, and the centre of the road which forms the south-western boundary of allotment No. 107 of the parish of Mangatawhiri to the south-eastern boundary of the parish of Opaheke, towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundary of the Parish of Opaheke aforesaid, from allotment No. 107 last named, to the Great South Road, and on the south-west by the Great South Road aforesaid, to the south-eastern boundary of the Highway District of Hunua before mentioned, the place of commencement.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

THE DISTRICT OF KIRIKIRIROA.
(Former boundaries detailed in Gazette, No. 44, vol. xvi, folio 417, September 26th, 1867.)

Bounded towards the north by the Mangawara and Komakorau Rivers from the Waikato River to the south-eastern boundary of allotment No. 440 of the parish of Komakorau, thence by a right line bearing due east from the northern termination of the boundary last named, to the north-eastern boundary of the confiscated territory; towards the east by the confiscation boundary last described; towards the south-east by a right line bearing south-west from the confiscation boundary before mentioned, to the Tamahere Creek, thence by said Creek to the Waikato River; and towards the south-west and north-west by the Waikato River to the Mangawara River, the place of commencement.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
