Highway District Notifications




PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By EVERY MACLEAN, Esquire,
Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the third section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby notify, for general information, that I have altered and amended the boundaries of the MOUNT ALBERT District under the said Act, as hereunder set forth.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

THE MOUNT ALBERT DISTRICT.

(Former Boundaries, detailed in Gazette No. 58, vol. xvi, folio 541)

Bounded towards the north by the northern boundary of section No. 5 of the parish of Waitemata, from the north-western angle of allotment No. 35 to the north-eastern angle of allotment No. 1 of section No. 5 aforesaid, and by the northern boundary of allotment No. 1 of section No. 7 to the road which forms its eastern boundary, towards the east by the road which forms the eastern boundary of allotment No. 1 of section No. 7 aforesaid, and also the north-eastern boundary of allotment No. 2 of section No. 10 to the northernmost point of allotment No. 1 of said section, thence by the north-western and part of the southern boundaries of allotment No. 1 aforesaid, to the north-eastern angle of allotment No. 10 of said section, thence by the eastern and southern boundaries of said allotment No. 10 to the road which forms the eastern boundaries of allotments Nos. 11 and 12, thence by the centre of said road to the south-eastern angle of allotment No. 12 aforesaid, and by the southern boundary of said allotment No. 12 to the north-eastern angle of allotment No. 137, thence by the eastern boundary of allotment No. 137 aforesaid, and the eastern boundaries of allotments Nos. 138, 139, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, and 178, as also the eastern boundary of allotment No. 46 of the parish aforesaid, to its south eastern angle towards the south by the centre of the road which forms the south-western boundary of allotment No. 46 aforesaid, and the south-western boundaries of allotments Nos. 45 and 44, and part of the south-western boundary of allotment No. 43 to the road which forms the south-eastern boundary of allotment No. 50, thence by the centre of said road, to a point being a continuation of the north-eastern boundary of allotment No. 51, thence crossing the before mentioned road, and by the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of allotment No. 51 aforesaid to the road which forms its south-western boundary, thence westerly along said road; and by the south-eastern boundary of allotment No. 52 to the rivulet, thence westerly along said rivulet to the north-eastern boundary of allotment No. 65, towards the west by the rivulet aforesaid, from the north-eastern angle of said lot No. 65 to a line running parallel to, and at a distance of 3 chains from the southern side of the New North Road, thence by said line to the road which forms the eastern boundary of allotment No. 64, thence northerly by the centre of said road, to the southern boundary of allotment No. 62, thence easterly by said boundary to Oakley’s stream and by said stream to the south-western angle of allotment No. 82, and towards the north-west by the south-eastern boundary, of allotment No. 82 aforesaid, to the road which forms its north-eastern boundary, thence crossing said road and by the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of allotment No. 85 and the eastern boundary of allotment No. 29 to the Meola stream, thence by said stream eastward to the south-western point of allotment No. 172, thence by the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of said allotment No. 172 to the road which forms its eastern boundary, thence southerly along that road to its nearest angle, thence crossing said road from angle to angle, and by the south-western boundary of allotment No. 176, and the south-western and north-eastern boundaries of allotment No. 177 to its north-eastern angle, thence across the road from said angle to the south-eastern angle of allotment No. 37 of section No. 5 aforesaid, thence by the southern and western boundaries of said allotment No. 37, and the western boundaries of allotments Nos. 36 and 35 to the point of commencement.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

BY virtue of the powers in the Superintendent vested by the third section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby notify that all that portion of the Province of Auckland, comprised within the boundaries hereunder described, shall be a District for the purposes of the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name thereto prefixed, that is to say;--

THE WHAU DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north by the Waitemata Harbour and Oakley’s Creek, from the Whau Creek to the Great North Road; towards the east by Oakley’s stream, from the head of Oakley’s Creek aforesaid, to the southern boundary of allotment No. 62, thence westerly by said boundary to the road which forms the eastern boundary of allotment No. 64, thence southerly by the centre of said road to a line running parallel to and
