PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By Every Maclean, Esquire,
Deputy Superintendent of the
Province of Auckland.
By virtue of the powers in the Superintendent vested by the third section of “The Highways Act, 1867,” I do hereby notify that all that portion of the Province of Auckland, comprised within the boundaries hereunder described, shall be a District for the purposes of the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name thereto prefixed, that is to say—
The Dedwood Highway District,
Bounded on the north by the Waitemata harbour from the Shelly Beach Road to the northern termination of Franklyn-street; on the east by Franklyn-street aforesaid and the Ponsonby road to its junction with the Richmond road; on the south by the Richmond road aforesaid and Cox’s Bay to the Waitemata harbour; and on the west by the Waitemata harbour aforesaid to the place of commencement.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this eighteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

In pursuance of the power in the Superintendent vested by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1867,” I do hereby bring the said Act into operation within the District of Dedwood, and appoint the first meeting of the Electors to take place in the Suffolk Hotel, College Road, Dedwood, on Monday, the thirty-first day of August inst., at seven o’clock in the evening.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this eighteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
