Sub-District No. 1.
Bounded towards the north-east by a right line from the summit of Maungataniwha to the north-western angle of Okaihau block No. 2, thence by the western and southern boundaries of said block to the Utukura river to the Omapere lake; on the south-east by a straight line from the mouth of the Utukura river aforesaid, to Kohatu point on the west coast; on the south-west by the sea from Kohatu point aforesaid, to Herekino harbour; and on the north-west by the southern boundary of the Electoral District of Mongonui.
Sub-District No. 2.
Bounded on the north by the sea from Whangaroa harbour, to the mouth of Te Kon River; on the south-east by said river, thence by the north-western boundaries of King and Sheppards' claims, and the north-western and western boundaries of the Matawheroia block, and by a right line thence to the north western angle of Okaihau block No. 2; on the south-west by a straight line from the north-western angle of Okaihau No. 2, aforesaid, to the summit of Maungataniwha; and on the north-west by part of the southern boundary of the Electoral District of Mongonui to Wangaroa harbour, the place of commencement.
Sub-District No. 3.
Bounded on the north by the sea and the harbour of the Bay of Islands, from river Te Kou to the Keri Keri river; on the south and the south-west by the northern boundary of Sub-district No. 4 hereafter defined; and on the north-west by the south-eastern boundary of Sub-district No. 2 hereinbefore described.
Sub-District No. 4.
Bounded towards the north-west by the northern boundaries of the Okaihau block No. 2, Clarke’s claim and the Omawhake block, and by the Puketotara and Keri Keri rivers to the harbour of the Bay of Islands; towards the north-east by the harbour of the Bay of Islands aforesaid, to the mouth of the Kawakawa river; towards the south-east by the Kawakawa and Waiharakeke rivers; and towards the south by a right line from the source of the Waiharakeke river aforesaid, to the southernmost boundary of the Omapere lake, thence by the south-western margin of said lake, the Utakura river and the south-western and western boundaries of the Okaihau block No. 2 aforesaid, to the place of commencement, including the Moturoa and adjacent isles.
Sub-District No. 5.
Bounded towards the north by the harbour of the Bay of Islands from Tapeka head to Cape Brett; towards the east by the sea from Cape Brett aforesaid, to Home point; towards the south-east by a right line from Home point aforesaid, to the north-east angle of the Ruapekapeka block, and the eastern boundary of said block; towards the south by the southern boundary of the Ruapekapeka block before mentioned; and towards the west by the Waiharakeke and Kawakawa rivers and the harbour of the Bay to Tapeka head, the point of commencement, including the Island of Orohia and adjacent isles.
Sub-District No. 6.
Bounded on the north by the southern boundary of Sub-district No. 4; on the east by a straight line bearing due south from the source of the Waiharakeke river, to the northern boundary of the Electoral District of Marsden; on the south by the northern boundary of the Electoral District of Marsden aforesaid; on the south-west by the sea from Mongonui Bluff, to Kohatu parish; and on the north-west by the south-eastern boundary of Sub-district No. 1 hereinbefore defined.
Sub-District No. 7.
Bounded towards the north by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Sub-district No. 5 hereinbefore defined; towards the north-east by the sea from Home point to the northern boundary of the Electoral District of Marsden; towards the south by the northern boundary of the Electoral District of Marsden aforesaid; and on the west by the eastern boundary of Sub-district No. 6 hereinbefore described.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS, by the first section of "The Sick and Destitute Act, 1868," it is enacted that the Electoral Districts of the Province of Auckland shall be and are thereby constituted Districts for the purposes of the said Act, provided that the Superintendent, by and with the advice of his Executive Council, may from time to time subdivide such Districts, in such manner as he shall think fit:
Now, therefore, I, Every Maclean, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland aforesaid, in pursuance of the powers and authority enabling me in that behalf, do hereby subdivide into the three Sub-Districts hereafter described, the whole of the Electoral District of Mongonui.
Comprising so much of the North Island as lies to the north of a line from the head of False Hokianga harbour, to the summit of Maungataniwha Mountain, and hence to the mouth of the Pupuke river at the head of Wangaroa harbour; including the adjacent islands.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this third day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
