PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN pursuance of the power in the Superintendent vested by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1867,” I do hereby bring the said Act into operation within the District of WHAREHINE, and appoint the first meeting of the Electors to take place at the School Room, Minnesdale, Takapau Creek, near Port Albert, on Friday, the seventh day of August next, at two o’clock in the afternoon.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.
TIPARA REEF.—SPENCER’S GULF.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the lights at present exhibited from the lightship off the Tipara Shoals, Spencer’s Gulf, will be replaced on or about the 31st January next, by a lightship, exhibiting two fixed bright lights, respectively 38 feet and 29 feet above water level.
The lights will be on the catoptric principle, and will be visible from seaward at a distance of about ten miles in clear weather.
During the prevalence of warm weather, when much refraction often exists, the lights will occasionally be seen at a greater distance than above stated.
Further notice will be given when the precise date of the alteration of the lights can be stated.
