By virtue of the powers in me vested by the forty-second section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby delegate, unto the Highway Trustees of the Ruamahanga District, the powers and authority vested in me, as Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, by the fourth, fifth, and ninth sections of "The Thistle Act, 1858."

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this sixteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

Wide Bay Bar,
Port Office,
27th April, 1868.

In consequence of the gradual shifting to the northward of the Channel over Wide Bay Bar, the following changes have been made in the leading marks for crossing the Bar:—

The White Beacon on Inskip Point is moved further to the eastward, and an additional beacon, painted black, is placed on the eastern side of Hook Point, at the south end of Great Sandy Island. The Black and the Two White Beacons in line lead over the Bar in not less than three fathoms at low water springs.

Directions:—After passing Double Island Point, steer N.W. by N. some five miles, as formerly, opening out and again shutting in the entrance to Wide Bay Harbour.
