16.—RUAKAKA DISTRICT.
Bounded on the north by the Whangarei harbour; on the east by the sea; on the south by the southern boundary of the Ruakaka block; and on the west by the eastern boundaries of the Mata block, native land, and the north-eastern boundary of the Mahe block to the Whangarei harbour aforesaid.
17.—MANGAPAI DISTRICT.
Bounded on the east by the Whangarei harbour, the eastern boundary of the Mahe block, the north-western boundaries of Henry’s land, and the eastern boundaries of the Mata block to the Waipu block; on the south-east by the Waipu block aforesaid; on the south-west by the Buarangi block; and on the north-west by the Tauraroa river and the Whangarei harbour aforesaid.
18.—MAUNGATAPERE DISTRICT.
Bounded on the north-west by the north-western boundaries of allotments Nos. 44 and 42 of the parish of Maungatapepe, the northern boundary of said lot 42, the northern boundaries of lot 38 and Walton’s farm, the northern boundaries of lots 35 and 37, all of the parish aforesaid to the Otaika river, and by said river to the Whangarei harbour; on the east by the Whangarei harbour aforesaid; on the south by the northern boundary of the Maungakaramea block; and on the west by the western boundary of the Maungatapepe block.

I DO hereby, in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the third section of “The Highways Act, 1867,” notify, that I have divided, for the purposes of the said Act, all that portion of the Province of Auckland, bounded on the north by the Mangawara and Komakorau rivers, the Komakorau creek, and a direct line running due west from the Komakorau creek aforesaid to the confiscated boundary line, from Hapuakohe to Pukemoremo; on the east by the boundary of the confiscated territory, the Tamahere river, and the Mangaomapu river to its junction with the road fronting allotment No. 58 of the parish of Hautapu, thence by the said road and allotments Nos. 181, 180, 179; another road and allotments Nos. 178, 177, 174, 171, 172, and 173, of the parish of Hautapu aforesaid; and the eastern boundary of the confiscated territory to the Puniu river; on the south by the Puniu river and the southern boundary of the confiscated territory to Mount Tahuanui; and on the west by the boundary of the confiscated land, the Tens, and Tena ranges, the northern boundary of the Karamu block to the Waipa river, thence by the Waipa river aforesaid, and the Waikato river to the mouth of the Mangawara river; the point of commencement: into the following Districts, with the descriptive names and boundaries undermentioned.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this twenty-fourth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

1.—KOMAKORAU DISTRICT.
Bounded on the north, north-east, and east, by the centre of the Mangawhara and Komakorau rivers; again on the east by the centre of a road to the south-east angle of lot 140, of the parish of Komakorau; on the south-east by the centre of a road, forming the southern boundary of lot 140, in the said parish, to the eastern boundary of said lot; thence in a straight line to the most northern point of the Timawhakapeke lake; thence by the margin of said lake to the road forming the south-eastern boundary of lot 82, of the parish of Kirikiriroa; thence by the centre of the said road to its junction with the Waikato river, between lots Nos. 9 and 35 of the said parish; and on the south-west and west by the centre of the said Waikato river.
2.—NEWCASTLE DISTRICT.
Bounded on the north-east by the centre of the Waikato river; on the south-east by a line dividing lot 110, in the parish of Horotiu, from lot 1, of the parish of Pukete, thence by the said line to its junction with a road forming the north and north-western boundary of the district of Whatawhata, and continuing along the said boundary until its junction with the Waipa river; and on the west by the centre of the said river to its junction with the Waikato river.
3.—KARANU DISTRICT.
Bounded on the north by a line forming the northern boundary of the Turaeke block to its junction with the Waipa river; on the east by the Waipa river aforesaid; on the south by the north and north-western boundary of the Pirongia Highways District, as hereinafter particularly described; and on the south-west by a line from To Reki range to the Tena ranges; and on the west by the said Tena ranges.
4.—PIRONGIA DISTRICT.
