PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By DANIEL POLLEN, Esq., Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

In pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the third section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby notify for general information, that I have altered and amended the boundaries of the several Highway Districts, as set forth in the schedule under-written.

Given my hand at Auckland, this twenty-first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

SCHEDULE.

1.--EAST TAMAKI DISTRICT.
Former boundaries detailed in Gazette No. 10, vol. X., folios 63 and 64, 1862.

Amended Boundaries.
Bounded on the north by the northern boundaries of lots 26, 27, 85, 97, and 80, of the parish of Pakuranga, from a branch of the Tamaki river, to the road which forms the eastern boundaries of lot 80 aforesaid; on the east by the before-mentioned road, which also forms the eastern boundaries of lots 116, 90, 18, and 104, to the north-western angle of lot 217, thence by the road which forms the northern boundaries of lots 217 aforesaid, 270, 271, 273, and 275, to the western angle of lot 118, thence by the north and part of the eastern boundaries of lot 118 aforesaid, part of the south-western boundary of lot 131, part of the south-eastern boundary of lot 189, the eastern boundary of lot 176, the eastern boundary of lot 175, and the eastern boundary of lot 137, all of the parish of Pakuranga, the north and east and part of the southern boundary of lot 91 to Clendon’s grant; on the south by the northern and part of the north-western boundaries of Clendon’s grant aforesaid, from the south-eastern angle of lot 94 aforesaid to the southern angle of lot 40 of the parish of Manurewa aforesaid, thence by the road which forms the south-western boundaries of lot 40 aforesaid, 39, 36, 12, and 11 to the southern boundary of lot 10 and by the same road continued through lots 10 and 9 to the Tamaki river; and on the west by the Tamaki river aforesaid to the point of commencement.

2.--WHANGAREI DISTRICT.
Former boundaries detailed in Gazette No. 10, vol. X., folio 64, 1862.

Amended Boundaries.
Bounded on the north by the southern boundary of the Kaipara and Whangarei Highways District; on the east by the Waitaua river, the Whangarei river, and the Kotehahau creek, until it intersects a line coming in a south-easterly direction from the south-east angle of the Pukenui block; thence on the south by the aforesaid line to the aforesaid angle; and on the west by the eastern boundaries of the Pukenui block aforesaid and the Whau-Whau block and the western boundaries of Mair’s grant and the Kamo block, and a road running through the Te Pua block to the Waitaua river.

3.--WAIROA DISTRICT.
Former boundaries detailed in Gazette No. 10, vol. X., folio 64, 1862.

Amended Boundaries.
Bounded on the north-east by the south-western boundary of lot 58 of the parish of Wairoa, from the native reserve which forms its northern boundary to the Wairoa river, thence by the said river and a small creek to the north-east boundary of lot 1 of the parish of Taupo, thence by the north-eastern boundaries of lot 1 aforesaid, and lot 8, and the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of lot 9, and the south-eastern boundaries of lot 6, to the Wairoa river aforesaid, thence by the said river to the north-western boundary of lot 112 of the parish of Hunua; on the south-east by the north-western boundaries of lot 112 aforesaid, and lots 174, 173, 133 and 136 of the parish of Hunua aforesaid; on the south-west by the south-western boundaries of lots 135, 78 and 22 of said parish to Hewlin’s line, and by the said line to the south-western boundary of the parish of Wairoa, thence by that boundary which also forms part of the north-eastern boundary of the Papakura Highways District, as hereafter described, to the western angle of lot 27 of the parish of Wairoa aforesaid; and on the north-west by the north-western boundary of the said parish to the native reserve, which forms the northern boundary of lot 46, of the parish of Maraetai, and by the southern boundary of the said native reserve to the point of commencement.

4.--WAITEMATA WEST DISTRICT.
Former boundaries detailed in Gazette No. 10, vol. X., folio 64, 1862.

Amended Boundaries.
Bounded on the north by the Waihere stream, the northern boundary of the Waikato confiscated lands, and the northern boundary of the parish of Waikato; on the east by the western boundary of the East Tamaki District; on the south by the northern boundaries of the Manukau and Manurewa parishes; and on the west by the eastern boundary of the Waikato River.
