THE CITY OF AUCKLAND

As bounded, on the North, by the Waitemata Harbour; on the East, by Suburban section No. 96, by the middle of Stanley-street from the south-western angle of section No. 11 of the City of Auckland to the junction of Stanley-street and Grafton Road, by the middle of Grafton Road from the junction of Stanley-street to the northern boundary of lot No. 41 of Suburban section No. 3, by the northern boundary of lot No. 41 of Suburban section No. 3, and the northern boundary of lot No. 8 of Suburban section No. 15; by the middle of Symonds-street, from the north-western angle of lot No. 8 of Suburban section No. 15, to the junction of Karangahape Road; on the South, by the middle of Karangahape Road from Symonds-street to the junction of Ponsonby Road, and by the middle of Ponsonby Road; and on the West, by the middle of Franklin-street.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this thirtieth day of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Meeting of persons entitled to vote within the City of Auckland for the election of seven persons to carry into effect the provisions of the “Town Boards Act, 1862,” within the said City, will be holden at the Mechanics’ Institute in the said City of Auckland, on Tuesday, the first day of July next, at noon, at which Meeting Lauchlan M’LUREN, Esq., shall preside.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by sub-section No. 20 of clause No. 2 of the “Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1862,” I do hereby give notice that I have appointed and set apart the undermentioned places within the City of Auckland to be used as stands for carts and other vehicles plying for hire, and that such places respectively shall, from and after the sixth day of June instant, be used as stands for the number of vehicles hereinafter mentioned—

As Stands for Carts:

By St. Paul’s Church, for a distance of Fifty yards from the entrance gate on the Western side thereof, and not encroaching on the road-way for more than Fifteen feet.

In the centre of the road-way on that portion of Queen Street commencing at a point in a line with the North side of the Supreme Court House, and extending therefrom South for a distance of Fifty yards; and not encroaching on the road-way for more than Twelve feet.

As a Stand for Omnibuses:

The East side of that portion of Lower Queen Street extending from Fort Street to Shortland Street, and not encroaching on the foot-path; nor on the road-way, for more than Twelve feet.

PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

WHEREAS, by the “Thistle Act, 1858,” it was amongst other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland from time to time by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, to declare that the said Act should come into operation within any District, and thereby to proclaim the limits of the District.

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers and authority in me vested, I, the said Superintendent, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said “Thistle Act, 1858,” shall, on and after the ninth day of June next, come into operation within the Mahurangi District, and the limits of the said District shall be—

On the north, the summit of the mountain ranges from Pask-Kauri to the source of the west branch of the Matakana river; on the East, the West branch of the Matakana river, and the Matakanaharbour to the sea, and the sea; on the South, the Native land on the South head of Mahurangi harbour, the Native land on the Puka Puka, the source of the Puka Puka creek or stream, and Southern boundary of the Parish of Ahuroa; and on the West by the Onehunga stream to Pae Kauri, inclusive of lot No. 14 of the Parish of Kowhawero.

Given under my hand at Auckland, in the said Province, this twenty-third day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.
