Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870," do hereby notify that Tuesday, the 7th day of
December, 1875, at noon, in the Land Office,
Hokitika, is fixed as the time and place
when an Auction Sale of Suburban Lands
and Pasturage Rights shall take place.

in accordance with the twenty-second Clause
of "The Westland Education Ordinance,
1874," he has appointed
EDWARD TERRY ROBINSON, Esq.,
to be a member of the Central Board of Education.

SIR,—As Manager of the "Totara and
Jones’ Creek Amalgamated Water-race
Company" Registered, and on behalf of the
said Company, I herewith deposit the sum of
Twenty Pounds (£20) sterling, as required
by the Water-race License Regulations; and
on behalf of the said Company I agree, if
my application (the particulars of which are
hereunder set forth) be investigated, that
such sum shall in all respects be held subject
to the terms of such regulations, and that
upon the approval of this application the said
Company will abide by any conditions that
may be imposed upon them.

16 heads; No. 2, or Low race, 6 heads; No. 3,
or Scandinavian race, 2 heads; No. 4, or
Left-hand Branch race, 5 heads; No. 5, or
Gow’s race, 2 heads—Total 31 heads.
Distance of Races.—There are 5 races,
and their aggregate length is about 15 miles;
Capital Expended.—£17,692 17s. 6d;
Term for which License is required.—
Fifteen years.
Precise Locality.—No. 1, or Upper race,
commencing at Donnelly’s Creek, about eight
miles from Ross, and terminating at
Donoghue’s. Length five miles.
No. 2, or Lower race, commencing at
Donnelly’s Creek, about one mile and three-
quarters from Ross, and terminating in Jones’
Flat. Length under five miles.
No. 3, or Scandinavian race, commencing at
the Scandinavian Creek, about three miles from
Ross, and terminating at the back of the
Old Cemetery Hill. Length under five miles.
No. 4, or Left-hand Branch race, com-
mencing at the left-hand branch of Donnelly’s
Creek, about two miles from Ross, and ter-
minating in Jones’ Flat. Length under five
miles.
No. 5, or Gow’s race, commencing at
Donnelly’s Creek, about one mile from Ross,
and terminating in Jones’ Flat. Length
under five miles.
