The several Schedules hereto, shall respectively be and be deemed to be roads under the provisions of the said Acts; and in further pursuance of the "The Immigration and Public Works Act, 1870," I do hereby proclaim and declare that I have caused a map and survey plan of the road, marked A No. 1, defined in the First Schedule hereto, describing the course and bearings and the admeasurements required for the same, and through what lands the same is proposed to pass, and the names of the owners or occupiers thereof, so far as known, to be deposited in the office of the Public Works Department at Greymouth, in the Province of Westland; and I have also caused a like map and survey plan, marked A No. 2, of the road defined in the Second Schedule hereto, and containing like particulars to be deposited in the office of the said Department at Greymouth aforesaid, which said maps and survey plans are authenticated, for the purposes of this Proclamation, by the signature of the Honorable Edward Richardson, Minister for Public Works.

SCHEDULE No. 1.

From Stillwater Creek Bridge to Maori Gully.

Commencing at a point about ten chains, more or less, west of Stillwater Creek Bridge on the Grey and Arnold Road, and defined by a peg driven into the ground and marked 0; and proceeding thence in a generally south-easterly direction for a distance of about 495 chains 47 links, more or less, to the bridge over Maori Gully Creek west of the Township of Orima. The above-described road not to be less than one chain wide.

SCHEDULE No. 2.

From Hokitika to the old Blue Spur Township.

Commencing at a point in Hampden Street, Hokitika, about 34 chains, more or less, from the western side of Sale Street, and defined by a peg driven into the ground and branded 0; proceeding thence in a generally easterly direction along or near the line of the existing tramway to peg 220 at the intersection of streets in the present Hau-Hau Township, and near the end of the said tramway; thence in a generally northerly direction to peg 101 on the dividing ridge between the valley of the Big Hau-Hau Creek and the valley of Brennan’s Creek; thence in a generally easterly direction along the main valley of the Big Hau-Hau Creek to peg 0, situated at the side of the present horse track, and about 150 links, more or less, from the foot bridge over the Big Hau-Hau Creek. The above-described road having a total length of about 365 chains 65 links, more or less, and not to be less than one chain wide.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty’s Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Auckland, this thirteenth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

Notice of the intention of the Governor to make a Road from Stillwater Creek Bridge to Maori Gully, and a Road from Hokitika to the old Blue Spur Township, in the Province of Westland.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Governor of New Zealand having, under the powers in him vested by "The Immigration and Public Works Act, 1870," and the Acts amending the same, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, deemed it expedient to make a road from Stillwater Creek Bridge to Maori Gully, and a road from Hokitika to the old Blue Spur Township, in the Province of Westland, which roads are, in the opinion of the Governor and the Executive Council of the Colony, not roads to be constructed by the Superintendent and the Provincial Council of the said Province, and the course and bearings of which said roads, the admeasurements required for the same, and the lands through which the same pass, together with
