Site for Township of Marsden determined.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the thirty-second section of "The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870," it is enacted, that the sites of towns shall from time to time be determined by the Governor, upon the recommendation of the County Council, and shall be notified by Proclamation in The County of Westland Gazette :
And whereas the said County Council has recommended that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be a site for a town within the meaning of the said section of the said Act :
Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby determine and fix the land described in the Schedule hereto to be a site for a town within the meaning of the thirty-second section of the said Act.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington this eighteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

SCHEDULE.
Marsden Township.
All that parcel of land bounded on the Northward by the north boundary of Block thirty-two (32), suburban; on the Westward by the left-hand branch of the New River; on the Southward by the New River and section one thousand one hundred and thirty-five (1135), rural; on the Eastward by the New River and section one thousand two hundred and ninety-four (1294), suburban, and section one thousand three hundred and sixty (1360), rural.

Town of Marsden to be sold at the upset price of £35 per acre.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me for that purpose by "The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870," I do hereby determine that the Township of Marsden, in the County of Westland, as the same is defined by a Proclamation made the eighteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, shall, so far as relates to the unoccupied ground, be cut up into sections of one third of an acre each, and be sold in the usual way at the upset price of thirty-five pounds per acre, and that the present occupants be permitted to purchase the ground held by them—the valuation for improvements being added—this being hereby determined and fixed in accordance with the recommendation of the County Council of the said County, as expressed in a resolution passed by that body on the twenty-first day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.
