3rd. The said Oliver and party shall pay a yearly rent of One Pound (£1) per acre; in half-yearly payments in advance.
4th. The said Oliver and party are not to subdivide the claim, but are not precluded from selling or disposing of shares, or selling or disposing of the whole of the claim to another party.
5th. The said Oliver and party shall comply with the directions of the Warden of the District as regards the working of the claim.
6th. Clauses 25 and 30, of the “The Mining Lease Regulations, 1871,” to be complied with by Oliver and party.
PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, by the twenty-ninth section of “The Goldfields Act, 1866,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, to demise for mining purposes, to any person, for any term not exceeding fifteen years from the making of the lease, any auriferous Crown Lands not exceeding ten acres in the whole of alluvial ground, or an area of 400 yards by 200 yards on a quartz reef, and to grant sites for machinery and any necessary easements for the purposes aforesaid, subject nevertheless to the conditions or provisions in the said section contained:
And whereas, by the one hundred and seventh section of the said Act, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, under his hand and the public seal of the Colony, from time to time, to delegate to such person as the Governor may think fit, all or any of the powers vested in the Governor by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sections twenty-two, forty, forty-eight, sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and seven thereof, subject or not to any limitations or restrictions as he may think fit:
And whereas, His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, did on the twenty-first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony, delegate unto me, Henry Lee Robinson, Chairman of the County Council of Westland, all the powers vested in him by “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and “The Gold Fields Act Amendment Act, 1869,” except the powers conferred by sections twenty-two, forty, forty-eight, sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and seven of the said Acts:
Now therefore, I Henry Lee Robinson, Chairman of the County Council of Westland, in exercise of the powers hereby vested in me in that behalf, do hereby give notice that on the third day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, intend to demise to the person named in the schedule hereto annexed certain auriferous Crown Lands of alluvial ground for the term specified in the said schedule.
Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this twenty-second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

Providing for Election of Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Westland.
JAMES FERGUSSON, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Province of Westland Act, 1873,” it is enacted that the Provincial Council of the Province of Westland shall in the first instance consist of such number of Members over and above the Superintendent of the said Province as the Governor shall by Proclamation direct and appoint, not being less in number than fifteen:
And it is also enacted that the Governor by Proclamation may constitute within such Province convenient Electoral Districts for the election of Members of the Provincial Council, and may appoint and declare the number of Members to be elected for every such District, and to make provision for the formation of the first Electoral.
