MALES.
-
A. K., aged 49, bootmaker. Admitted into Hospital with chronic cystitis and extensive ulceration of the bladder, the result of tuberculosis. For some months previous to this man’s death the discharge of pus from his bladder was enormous, and his sufferings were most excruciating. Autopsy: Revealed tubercular deposits in the kidneys and prostate gland; the coats of the bladder were enormously thickened, and its mucous membrane at the base and basifond were in a state of ulceration. The cause of the ulceration of the bladder in this case was the softening and breaking down of the tubercular deposits in its mucous membrane and submucous cellular tissue.
-
C. O’C., aged 29, miner. Admitted into Hospital with acute rheumatism, subsequently pneumonia became developed which carried him off. Autopsy: Pericardium closely adherent to the heart throughout its entire surface. There were recent vegetations of lymph on the valves, the lungs were in the second stage of pneumonia, and connected to the walls of the chest by recent adhesions.
-
C. P. P., aged 10. Admitted into Hospital in a dying condition with double pneumonia and hypertrophy of the heart from old standing valvular disease, the result of previous attacks of acute rheumatism.
