Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

SCHEDULE.

TOWNSHIP OF MAHINAPUA.

ALL that parcel of land, containing 230 acres, more or less, situated in the Totara District, between the Kanieri, and Ross Road and the Mahinapua Lake, commencing at the bank of the Mahinapua Lake, at a point 10 chains to the south-west of Frosty Creek ; thence in a northerly direction following the banks of the Mahinapua Lake to H.B. line ; thence along the said line for 15 chains; thence south-easterly in a straight line bearing 112° magnetic to the Hokitika and Ross Road ; thence along the north and west boundary of section 1344 (rural), and along the west boundary of section 1336 (rural), to the south-west corner of the last-named section ; thence south-westerly, following a straight line parallel to the Hokitika and Ross Road ; and thence to the commencing point in a straight line at right angles to the last-named boundary.

PROCLAMATION.

G. F. Bowen, Governor.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me for that purpose by "The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870," I do hereby determine that the Township of Mahinapua, in the County of Westland, as the same is defined by a proclamation made the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, shall be surveyed and divided into sections containing one quarter of a acre each, and that such sections shall be sold as in manner directed by the said Act, at the upset price of thirty-five pounds per acre, the size of such sections and the upset price thereof hereby determined being fixed in accordance with the recommendation of the County Council of the said County, as expressed in a resolution passed by that body on the twenty-second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

WE, the undersigned, Commissioners of the Waste Lands Board of the County of Westland, in accordance with the provisions of section thirty-four of "The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870," do hereby notify, that Monday, 2nd December next, at noon, in the Warden’s Court, Kanieri, is fixed as the time and place when an auction sale of Kanieri town lands shall take place.
