In pursuance of the powers delegated to me under an Ordinance of the Lieutenant-Governor of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council, intituled an "Ordinance to provide for the Establishment and Maintenance of a Constabulary Force," I hereby appoint

SERGEANT-MAJOR CHARLES O'DONNELL,

to be Sub-Inspector of the Constabulary Force in the County of Westland.

Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

It is hereby notified for general information, that the undermentioned Mining Lease is cancelled, and that the ground is now open for occupation.

It is hereby notified, that the boundaries of Block I (rural), as gazetted in The County of Westland Gazette, No. 12, of the 29th April, 1872, have been extended by the Waste Lands Board as follows:—

Block I. (Rural.)

GREY DISTRICT.

Commencing at the north-east corner of Native Reserve, No. 31, and extending up the south bank of the Grey River to the North-west corner of Native Reserve, No. 33; thence following the western and southern boundaries of the reserve; thence along the western and southern boundaries of Coal Reserve, No. 274 (in red) to a point one mile north-east of the south-west corner of said Coal Reserve; thence at right angles to the southern boundary of said reserve; thence westerly in a straight line parallel to south boundary of Coal Reserve to A.K. line; thence southerly along A.K. line to Rata-tree peak; thence due west (magnetic) in a straight line to the Omotumotu and Marsden Road; thence southerly along said road; and westerly along A.A. line to the intersection of east boundary of Block LXVII (produced) with A.A. line; and thence northerly along the east boundary of Block LXVII (suburban) and the east boundary of Native Reserve, No. 31, to the commencing point; exclusive of necessary reserves and gold workings.
