IT is hereby notified for general information, that in accordance with the County Chairman’s order of 7th September, 1871, no accounts against the County Government will be recognised unless an order, signed by the Government Storekeeper, authorising the expenditure, is attached to such accounts.

has resigned his seat as a Member of the Paroa Road Board.

IN pursuance of the provisions of sections eighty and eighty-one of “The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870,” the Waste Lands Board have reserved from public sale the land described in the schedule hereunto annexed, to be granted in payment for public works.

Block X. (Rural.)
TOTARA DISTRICT.
Containing five hundred and ten (510) acres, more or less, having frontage to the Ross road, and bounded on the northward by a straight line north of and twenty-two (22) chains from Granite creek, and right angles to Ross road; on the southward, by a straight line south of and forty-two (42) chains from Granite creek, and right angles to Ross road; and on the eastward and westward by straight lines forty (40) chains from, and generally parallel to, the Ross road.
Subject to survey, necessary reserves, and goldworkings.
IT is hereby notified that the boundaries of Block X (Rural), as Gazetted in the County of Westland Gazette, No. 15, of the 10th July, 1871, have been extended by the Waste Lands Board, as follows:—
Block X. (Rural.)
TOTARA DISTRICT.
Bounded on the northward by Block IX (Suburban), H A line, Block LIII (Suburban), and Block XXXIII (Rural); on the eastward by H I line, H F line, and the one mile line; on the southward by H O line, H P line, and Moorhouse road; and on the westward by a line ten (10) chains east of and generally parallel to the Railway reserve, and by the Coast line, Lagoons, and Block XLVI (Rural).
Exclusive of lands sold, reserves, and goldworkings.

APPLICATION FOR A WATER-RIGHT LICENCE.
TO THE WARDEN OF THE TOTARA DISTRICT.
SIR,—We herewith deposit the sum of twenty pounds (£20) as required by the Water-Race Licence Regulations, and we agree, if our application (the particulars of which are hereunder set forth) be investigated, that such sum shall, in all respects, be held subject to the terms of such Regulations, so far as they are not at variance with the proposals undermentioned.

Style under which it is intended to conduct the business of this Race.—The Mikonui Water Company.
Number of heads of Water.—Forty heads from source, together with all drainage and streams on the line, subject to existing rights.
Length of Race.—Twenty-one miles.
Capital proposed to be expended.—Forty thousand pounds (£40,000).
Term for which license is required.—Fifty years.
Precise Locality.—Commencing at the Mikonui River, above the second gorge, and cut along the Mikonui slopes of the Greenland Range to crest of range at Sailor’s Gully.
Further conditions.—We require a space of ten chains wide, being five chains on each side.
