Hokitika, 20th November, 1871.

House to the junction of Mawhera Quay with Richmond Quay, shall be the legal Landing-place for the lading and unlading of Goods at the Port of Greymouth under The Customs Regulation Act, 1858.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, at the Government House at Wellington, this thirteenth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

IN exercise and pursuance of the power vested in me by the Gold Mining Lease Regulations, I hereby declare that the Mining Lease, granted to the Star of the South Gold Mining Company at the Five-Mile Beach, Okarito, is forfeited, and the land is now open for occupation.
