Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson
Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, in
exercise and pursuance of all powers enabling
me in this behalf, and on such recommenda-
tion as aforesaid, approved of as aforesaid, do
hereby withdraw from the lands mentioned in the
Schedule hereto from being part of the site of
the Town of Greymouth, within the meaning
and for the purposes of the Regulations in
force for the sale, letting, disposal, occupation,
and management of the Waste Lands of the
Crown within the said County:

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of St. Michael
and St. George, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and
issued under the seal of the Colony,
at Wellington, this third day of
August, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and
seventy.

SCHEDULE.

All such part of the Town of Greymouth
as proclaimed as a site for a town, except that
portion bounded on the Northward by the
Grey River; on the Eastward by the Native
Reserve (No. 31), and Shakespeare street
with the road and Railway Reserve; on the
Southward by Marlborough street; and on
the Westward by the sea coast; and estimated
to contain three hundred (300) acres more or
less.

Pursuant to Section 13 of "The Gold
Mining Claims Drainage Act, 1868,"
I hereby publish for general information Bye
Laws No. 14, 15, and 16 of the Jones’s Flat
Mining Drainage Board under the powers
delegated to me by His Excellency the
Governor.

Whereas the Mining Drainage Board of
the District of Jones’s Flat did grant, upon
the application of the "Ross United Steam
Drainage Company, Registered," on the 21st
day of July, 1869, Drainage Area, No. 1,
and for the purposes as provided for in Bye
Law No. 2, of the said Board, Clause No. 4:

Now, therefore, the said Mining Drainage
Board for the said district, as aforesaid, do
enact that an equal rate of sixpence per acre
shall be levied upon all rateable areas held
within Drainage Area No. 1, and such rate
shall be due and payable every Tuesday in
each week, to the Clerk of the said Board, at
his office, Aylmer-street, and such weekly
payments to continue to be made until further
notice.

Be it also further ordered and directed by
the said Mining Drainage Board, that all the
provisions contained in Bye Law No. 8 of the
said Board, levying a rate of fourpence, shall
be rescinded, after the foregoing receiving the
assent of His Excellency the Governor’s
Delegate for the County of Westland.

The members of the Jones’s Flat Mining
Drainage Board have concurred in making
the above Bye Law No. 14.

BYE LAW No. 15.

At a Meeting of the Mining Drainage
Board of the District of Jones’s Flat,
begun and holden at Ross, in the said
district, on the 23rd day of August,
1870, it is ordered by the said Board
as follows:—

That is to say—

Whereas it shall be expedient for the
Drainage Board for the District of Jones’s
Flat, to enter into contracts with any person
or persons, for the execution of any works
directed or authorised to be carried out by
the said Drainage Board, for and on behalf of
Drainage purposes, or for the purpose of
furnishing materials for the purpose of
Drainage: Power is hereby granted to the
Drainage Board, as aforesaid, to enter into
contracts which may lawfully be exercised as
follows: That is to say—

The Drainage Board of the District of
Jones’s Flat may from time to time enter into
contracts and written agreements, for the
carrying out and performing all such works
in connection with Drainage, with any person
or persons as the case may be, and vary or
discharge the same. The Board may make
in writing, signed by the Chairman of such
Board for the time being, on behalf of such
Board, any such agreement or contract.

BYE LAW No. 14.

At a Meeting of the Mining Drainage
Board of the District of Jones’s Flat,
begun and holden at Ross, on the
23rd August, 1870, in the said District,
it is enacted as follows:—
