WE, the undersigned, Commissioners of the Waste Lands Board of the County of Westland, in accordance with the provisions of Section 21, of the regulations for the sale, letting, occupation, and management of the Waste Lands of the Crown in the County of Westland, do hereby notify that Friday, the fifteenth day of July, at noon, in the Land Office, Hokitika, is fixed as the time and place when a sale by auction of town, suburban, and rural lands shall take place.

IN accordance with the provisions of Section 46, of the regulations for the sale, letting, occupation, and management of the Waste Lands of the Crown in the County of Westland, the undersigned, Commissioners of the Waste Lands Board of the County of Westland, do hereby proclaim that lands included in Block XXXVI, (rural), are withdrawn from sale.

The said block was declared open for sale by a proclamation in the County of Westland Gazette, dated the 8th of January, 1870.

THE following Regulation of the Council of the Borough of Hokitika has been forwarded to the Chairman of the County Council, who direct it to be notified that he does not dissent from it. It is published for general information under the 121st Clause of The Municipal Corporations Act, 1870.

REGULATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF HOKITIKA MADE UNDER SCHEDULE THIRTEEN IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY-TWO OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1867.

WHEREAS by a certain Regulation made by the Council of the Borough of Hokitika on the twelfth day of March, 1869, under the ninth subdivision of the first part of Schedule thirteen, and published in the County of Westland Gazette of April the 15th, 1869, No. 8, page 48, and which said Regulation is intituled as follows, that is to say:—

Obstruction, etc., to Streets, etc., by Cattle, etc.

And whereas it is desirable that the said Regulation should be repealed and other provisions made in lieu thereof, the Council of the Borough of Hokitika do therefore ordain as follows:—

1. That the said Regulation shall be, and the same is hereby repealed.

2. That it shall not be lawful for any person or persons to drive into or through the Borough of Hokitika, or any part thereof, any Cattle intended for sale, slaughter, or shipment, or travelling from one part of New Zealand to any other place, unless it be between the hours of five o’clock at night and nine o’clock in the morning during the months of April, May, June, July, August, September, and between the hours of seven o’clock at night and eight o’clock in the morning during the months of October, November, December, January, February, March.
