XIV.—KANIERI FERRY.

LEARMONTH & SMITH.

  1. The punt, gear and approaches to be maintained in good and serviceable condition, subject to the approval of the County Engineer.

  2. The charges not to exceed the following rates:—

For foot passengers, each 0 6
For horse, mule, or ass, each 1 6
For horse, mule, or ass, with pack, each 2 6
For horned cattle, with pack, each 2 6
For horned cattle, by the punt, each 1 0
For horned cattle, swimming, each 0 6
For sheep, pigs, or goats, each 0 3
For vehicle drawn by one horse (empty) 2 0
For each additional horse 1 0
For dray loads, at 100lbs. 0 3
For sawn timber, per 100ft. (super.) 1 0
Government Officers, on duty, free

For horses without riders or packs ... 1 | 6 |
For cattle ... 1 | 0 |
For sheep, per hundred ... 5 | 0 |

XV.—TEREMAKAU FERRY.

CHARLES KLEES.

  1. The ferry to be worked by boat.

  2. The amount of rent to be £100 for six months, paid monthly in advance.

  3. Protection allowed for half-a-mile from the point at which the boat starts. The protection to date from 25th February, 1870.

Schedule of charges:—

For a horse and rider 2 6
For foot passengers, each 1 0
For parcels over 40 lbs. weight, not being passengers luggage, each 0 6
For assisting to swim cattle or sheep, per 100 head 10 0
Government Officers, on duty, free

Double fares may be charged between the hours of 10 o'clock p.m. and 6 o'clock a.m.

XVI.—ARNOLD FERRY.

GEORGE CURTIS.

  1. The protection to be for twelve months from the 13th April, 1870.

  2. Schedule of charges:—

For foot passengers 1 0
For horses with riders or packs 2 6

XVII.—STILL-WATER TRACK.

PETER NILSON.

  1. The protection to be for twelve months from the 17th February, 1870.

  2. Schedule of tolls:—

s. d.
For horses with or without riders 2 6
For cattle 5 0
For sheep 0 6
For foot passengers 0 6
  1. Government Officers, on duty, free.

XVIII.—ARAHURA BRIDGE.

ALDRICH, BOYLE, AND CO.

  1. The protection to be for twelve months from the 20th December, 1869.

  2. Schedule of tolls:—

s. d.
For every foot passenger 0 6
For every horse, with or without rider or pack 1 0
For every vehicle drawn by one horse 2 0
For every extra horse to the vehicle 0 6
For every head of large cattle 0 6
For every sheep, goat or pig 0 1
  1. Government Officers, on duty, free.

Double the above rates may be charged between the hours of ten o'clock at night and six o'clock in the morning.

XIX.—WAIMEA BRIDGE.

WILLIAM O'DONNELL.

  1. Protection granted for twelve months from 9th December, 1869.

  2. Schedule of tolls:—

For horse, with or without rider or pack 1 0
For every vehicle drawn by one horse 2 0
For every extra horse to the vehicle 0 6
