one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, it is enacted as follows:

That is to say—

Whereas the Mining Drainage Board of the District of Jones’s Flat, did grant upon the application of the Ross United Steam Drainage Company, Limited, at Ross, on the first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy, an extended Drainage Area, defined by posts and other boundary lines, on the Jones’s Flat Mining Drainage Map, on the following conditions:—

That the Band of Hope and Great Ross Extended Companies’ Claims, included within this area applied for, and granted as aforesaid, shall be exempted from Drainage rates and redemption rates, when these Companies are in a position to drain their own claims to the satisfaction of the said Mining Drainage Board as aforesaid.

And for the purposes as provided for in Bye Law No. 2, clauses 1, 4, and 6, the said Mining Drainage Board, as aforesaid, in granting this extended Drainage Area, do exact that an equal rate of fourpence (4d) shall be levied and be made payable on each and every rateable area, within such extended Drainage Area granted as aforesaid, and that the first payment levied as aforesaid shall be made on Friday, the 22nd day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy, to the Clerk of the said Mining Drainage Board as aforesaid, at his office, Aylmer-street, Ross.

The said Mining Drainage Board as aforesaid, further order and direct that such weekly payments shall continue to be made until further notice.

The undersigned members of the said Mining Drainage Board concurred in making the foregoing Bye Law.

area entitled “Drainage Area, No. 2,” upon the following conditions:—

That the Kohinoor Company’s Mining Lease included within the Drainage Area, No. 2, applied for by the said Great Ross Extended Gold Mining Company, shall be exempted from paying Drainage Rates, as soon as they drain the ground to the satisfaction of the Board; but should they not place machinery upon the lease within six months from the date of this application, the Kohinoor Company’s Mining Lease shall be included in the Great Ross Extended Gold-Mining Company’s Drainage Area, No. 2, for the term of three years.

That the portion included in the Drainage Area, No. 2, belonging to the Band of Hope Company, be exempted from rates as soon as that Company is able to drain the ground to the satisfaction of the Board.

Be it therefore ordered and directed by the Mining Drainage Board of the District of Jones’s Flat as aforesaid, that an equal rate of Threepence (3d.) shall be levied and made payable upon all rateable areas within the Drainage Area, No. 2, granted as aforesaid, such rates to be due and payable to the Clerk of the said Mining Drainage Board, at his office, Aylmer-street, Ross, on the 19th day of April, 1870, and such weekly payments to continue until further notice.

The Members of the above Mining Drainage Board have concurred in the passing of this Bye Law.

BYE LAW No. 10.

At a Meeting of the Mining Drainage Board of the District of Jones’s Flat, begun and holden at Ross, in the said District, on the 29th day of March, 1870, it is enacted as follows:—

That is to say—

Whereas the Mining Drainage Board of the District of Jones’s Flat, did grant upon the application of the Great Ross Extended Gold-Mining Company, Limited, at Ross, on the 8th day of February, 1870, a mining drainage...

The Subscription is at the rate of £1 1s. per annum, payable in advance.

Advertisements will be charged for at the rate of Five Shillings per inch. Tabular matter, extra.
