Hokitika, to be a Justice of the Peace, under
the one hundred and thirty-third section of
"The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867."

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty’s
Colony of New Zealand, and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same, and issued, at Wellington,
this sixteenth day of November, in
the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-nine.

Now, therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson
Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
said power and authority in me vested in
this behalf, do hereby appoint

Samuel Boyle, Esq.,
the person elected to be the Mayor of
the Borough:

expressed that it is made under the one
hundred and thirty-third section of the said
Act; and it is further declared that such
appointment shall continue in force only
during the Mayoralty of such person, and the
person so appointed shall not, by virtue of
such appointment, be authorised to sit or act
as a Justice of the Peace elsewhere than
within the Borough.
