THE Chairman of the County Council directs it to be notified that the following Regulations of the Council of the Borough of Greymouth, passed by the said Council on the 22nd of March, 1869, and gazetted in the County of Westland Gazette, No. 8, of the 15th April, 1869, are regazetted in compliance with the 3rd section of "The Greymouth Quays’ Act, 1869."

REGULATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH, MADE UNDER SECTION TWO OF PART THREE OF THE THIRTEENTH SCHEDULE OF "THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1867 AND 1868."

The Council of the Borough of Greymouth make the following Regulations: That is to say,—

1st. That all coals shall be landed on a portion of the Wharf to be specially leased for that purpose.

2nd. That the Wharfage Rates to be paid in respect of all goods, wares, or merchandise landed and shipped, or deposited upon or from any Wharf, Pier, Jetty, or Quays, within the limits of the Borough of Greymouth, shall be as follows :—

Bran, one shilling per 60 bushels
Bricks, three shillings per 1000
Carrots, one shilling per 2240 lbs.
Coals to be landed on a wharf specially leased for the purpose
Chaff, two shillings per 2240 lbs.
Cattle, two shillings and sixpence per head
Dairy Produce, Bacon, Beef, &c., one shilling per 2240 lbs.
Flour, one shilling per 2000 lbs.
Fruit (green), one shilling and sixpence per ton measurement
Grain, one shilling per 40 bushels
Horses, two shillings and sixpence each
Lime, one shilling per 2240 lbs.
Machinery, one shilling per 2240 lbs.
Mangold Wurtzel, one shilling per 2240 lbs.
Onions, one shilling per 2240 lbs.
Potatoes, one shilling per 2240 lbs.
Poultry, free
Palings, two shillings per 1000
Sawn Timber, per 100 superficial feet, three pence
Shingles, sixpence per 1000
Sheep and Pigs, twopence each
Slates, three shillings per 1000
Turnips, one shilling per 2240 lbs.
Vehicles (two-wheeled), two shillings and sixpence each
Vehicles (four-wheeled), five shillings each.
All other goods, one shilling and sixpence per ton.

3rd. On all goods landed at the Transit Shed, and left there for a longer period than twenty-four hours, shall be paid for every week, or part of a week, a rent of two shillings per ton, or part of a ton.

4th. On all goods landed, or taken to the Transit Shed, to be stored, shall be paid for receiving one shilling and sixpence per ton, or part of a ton; and one shilling and sixpence per ton, or part of a ton, shall be paid for delivery; and two shillings per ton per week shall be paid for every week, or part of a week, for goods so stored.

5th. All bonded goods shall be landed at such points as the Collector of Customs, for the time being, shall, from time to time, by writing appoint.

6th. All free goods may be landed at any part of Mawhera and Richmond Quays.

7th. All goods shall be landed between the hours of eight o’clock a.m. and six o’clock p.m., during the months from October to March (inclusive); and from eight o’clock a.m. till five o’clock p.m., during the months from April to September, or at such other times according to the Customs Regulations, or within such longer period as the Mayor may, on application, grant.

Passed by the said Council, this the twenty-second day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.
