PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS power is vested in the Governor of New Zealand, by Proclamation to declare any house, building, enclosure, or place, to be a Public Gaol :
Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor, as aforesaid, do hereby declare and proclaim the following House or Building, that is to say,
The House or Building on Reserve No. 703, in the Town of Greymouth, in the County of Westland, and the enclosed yard attached thereto, at present used as a Police Lock-up, to be a Public Gaol.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand, and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, and issued under the Public Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this twelfth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

to be the Medical Officer of the Lunatic Asylum, on the Hospital Reserve, Hokitika.
