me in that behalf, do hereby give notice that,
on the twenty-ninth day of September, 1869,
I intend to demise to the persons named in
the schedule hereto annexed certain auriferous
Crown lands of alluvial ground, for the term
specified in the said schedule.

Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this
sixteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington,
this first day of September, 1869. Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act Amendment Act, 1868,” it is enacted that in every case in which a Borough is constituted under the authority of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” within the boundaries whereof is included territory theretofore included in one or more Road Districts, Highway Districts, or other districts of a like nature, the Governor in Council, from time to time, may order and direct to and upon which of the several bodies, namely, the Council of the Borough and the Boards of the Road Districts, any or all of the rights and liabilities of the Boards of such Road Districts respectively shall belong and attach, and by or against which of such bodies all or any of the actions, suits, or proceedings pending at the time of the constitution of such Borough, by or against the Boards of the Road Districts, or any of them, shall be carried on and prosecuted; and that all or any rates made before the constitution of such Borough remaining unpaid shall be paid to and levied and recovered by either of such bodies, and may, from time to time, award to either of such bodies, to be paid by any other or others of them, such contribution in respect of all or any of the matters aforesaid as shall seem fit:

And whereas by Proclamation, bearing date the sixteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, the Town of Greymouth, in the County of Westland, was constituted a Borough under the authority of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867:”

And whereas, within the boundaries of the said Borough there was included territory theretofore included in the Paroa Road District; and whereas it is expedient that certain payments should be made by the Council of the Borough of Greymouth to the Road Board of the Paroa Road District in respect of the matters aforesaid:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in exercise of the powers vested in him by the said recited Act, doth hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony, award to the Road Board of the Paroa Road District from the Council of the Borough of Greymouth such contribution in the premises as to His Excellency may seem just.


IN pursuance of the powers vested in me
by the Regulations contained in the
Schedule to the Proclamation dated the
twentieth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-eight, by the Governor in
Council, of Regulations for the sale, letting,
disposal, occupation, and management of the
Waste Lands of the County of Westland,
I, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint

William Evans, Esq.,
to be Commissioner of the Waste Lands
Board of the said County of Westland, in
the room of Andrew Mouatt, Esq., re-
signed, to hold office during my pleasure.

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty’s
Colony of New Zealand, and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same, at the Government House,
at Wellington, this first day of September,
in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.
