IT is hereby notified for general information that on and after the 20th day of
September instant, the following scale of
tolls will be charged at the respective Toll
Gates mentioned below:--

GOLDSBOROUGH TOLL GATE.

C. HOES,
Chairman of the County Council.

WHEREAS, by the 29th section of
"The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it is
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to demise, for mining
purposes, to any person, for any term not
exceeding fifteen years from the making of
the lease, any auriferous Crown lands not
exceeding ten acres in the whole of alluvial
ground, and to grant titles for machinery and
any necessary easements for the purposes
aforesaid, subject, nevertheless, to the conditions or provisions in the said section contained.

And whereas His Excellency Sir George
Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, did, on the third day of February, 1869,
with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, delegate unto me,
Conrad Hoes, Chairman of the County Council of the County of Westland, the power
vested in him by the twenty-ninth section of
"The Gold Fields Act, 1866."

Now therefore I, Conrad Hoes, Chairman
of the County Council of the County of
Westland, in exercise of the powers vested in
