PURSUANT to section 13 of "The Gold Mining Claims Drainage Act, 1868," I hereby publish for general information bye-laws Nos. 3 and 4 of the Jones’s Flat Mining Drainage Board, under the powers delegated to me in that behalf by His Excellency the Governor.

JONES’S FLAT MINING DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
BYE LAW No. 3
At a meeting of the Mining Drainage Board of the District of Jones’s Flat, begun and holden at Ross in the said District, on the 29th day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, it is enacted by the said Board as follows:—
That is to say:—
The holder or holders of any Drainage area, held under the authority of the Jones’s Flat Gold Mining Drainage Board, upon discovering that the surface or underground workings are injured or damaged (through negligence or other causes by any person or persons engaged in mining or any other pursuits, who, by wilfully or negligently, allowing any waste or tail water to flow over or into any portion of Drainage Area, without conducting such waste or tail water over or through properly constructed flumings to the nearest channel, creek, or river), the holder or holders of such Drainage Area shall lodge his or their complaint in writing with the Clerk of the said Jones’s Flat Gold Mining Drainage Board, who shall thereupon proceed to such Drainage Area, and examine the causes and the nature of the damage complained of, and report thereon to the Chairman and Members of the said Jones’s Flat Gold Mining Drainage Board, who shall then, if it should appear to them necessary, order and instruct the Clerk of the said Board to proceed under the Gold Fields Regulations against the person or persons so offending.

BYE LAW No. 4
At a meeting of the Mining Drainage Board of the District of Jones’s Flat, begun and holden at Ross in the said District, on the 21st day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, it is enacted by the said Board as follows:—
That is to say:—
The Mining Drainage Board of the District of Jones’s Flat, did grant upon the application of the Ross United Steam Drainage Company, a Drainage Area on the 21st day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, and for the purposes as provided in Bye Law No. 2 of the said Board, Clause No. 4.
The said Mining Drainage Board for the said District aforesaid, did enact that an equal rate of fourpence shall be levied and made payable upon all rateable areas within the Drainage Area granted as aforesaid.
Be it therefore ordered and enacted by the said Mining Drainage Board for the said District of Jones’s Flat, that the aforesaid rate is made due and payable upon all rateable areas to the Clerk of the said Board, on the 24th day of August next proximo.
