Block No. IX. (Suburban.)
Bounded on the North by the Southern boundary of Reserve No. 272 (Hokitika South), and Hospital Reserve; on the West, by the sea coast; on the South, by a line two miles distant, more or less, from the Northern boundary; on the East, by Road and Railway Reserve No. 9, in red. Exclusive of all lands sold or reserved within such boundaries.
thence on a bearing of 100° (magnetic) a distance of one hundred and eighty chains, and also on a bearing of 131° (magnetic) a distance of one hundred and forty chains, more or less; thence on a bearing of 55° (magnetic), to the mouth of Ranginui Creek, on the Teremakau River; thence down the Southern bank of the said river to the mouth of the Waimea Creek; thence on a bearing of 285° (magnetic), to a point distant forty chains from the mail road to Canterbury; thence Westerly at an average distance of forty chains from the said road to the boundary of Reserve No. 666, in red, and along that boundary to the commencing point. Exclusive of all lands sold or reserved within such boundaries.
Block No. X. (First-class Rural.)
Bounded on the North by Southern boundary of Township Reserve No. 272, in red (Hokitika South), and a line distant two miles, more or less, from such boundary, and also part of line H E; on the East, by the One mile line, and part of line H F; on the South, by part of line H P, and the road from the beach to Ross; and on the West, by the coast line and lagoons. Exclusive of all lands sold or reserved within such boundaries.
Block No. VI. (First-class Rural.)
Bounded on the South by Native Reserve No. 30 (Arahura), for a distance of one hundred and fourteen chains; on the East, by a line bearing 28° (magnetic), to the Waimea Creek; on the North, by the Waimea Creek, for a distance of thirty-five chains in a direct line, and a line bearing 285° (magnetic), to the sea coast; on the West, by the sea coast and lagoon. Exclusive of all lands sold or reserved within such boundaries.
Block No. VII. (First-class Rural.)
Bounded on the North by Native Reserve No. 30 (Arahura); on the West, by Road and Railway Reserve No. 8, in red; on the South, by a line forty chains distant from the Northern boundary of the Town of Hokitika, and by a line South of, and forty chains distant from the boundary of Native Reserve No. 30 (Arahura); and on the East, by the One mile line, bearing 28° (magnetic), and a part of line F N. Exclusive of all lands sold or reserved within such boundaries.
Block No. VIII. (First-class Rural.)
Commencing at the mouth of the Kanieri River; from thence extending up the Northern bank of the Hokitika River to Raft Creek; thence Northerly a distance of one mile, more or less, along line D B; from thence Westerly, keeping an average distance of one mile from the Hokitika River, to the Kanieri River, and down the said river to the commencing point. Exclusive of all lands sold or reserved within such boundaries.
WITH reference to the foregoing Proclamation, notice is hereby given that all Pre-emptive Rights in virtue of improvements made within any of the blocks of land described in the Schedule to the above Proclamation, must be claimed in person at the Land Office, Hokitika, either by the claimants themselves, or by agents appointed by them, at noon on one of the three following days:—May 12th, June 2nd, and June 9th. Before appearing at the Board, the claimants will be required to get the descriptions of the land claimed by them drawn up and certified to by the Chief Surveyor. This can be done at the Land Office on any day during office hours.
